mac warez are just as good as windows there harder to find sometimes but im surviving just fine ive got the adobe master collection, cubase 4, logic pro 9, microsoft office and a host of emulators that work seamlessly trust me, mac warez isnt as... up-to-date as the windows scene, but its alive and well

you're all entitled to your opinions i guess. but i'd bet a shit load of money that 99% of mac users were once windows users try both. be open minded

i saved up and worked hard for mine actualy. i payed for every penny of it.

the advantages of windows; development gaming the advantages of mac; production of video, audio, and image reliability i've been a dedicated windows user for as long as any of you, and yes i've tried linux (ubuntu) and out of the 3, mac (snow leopard if you're interested) is by FAR the most reliable. i run some very intense programs and it WILL NOT crash. dont get me wrong i miss some of the... flexibility of windows, generaly if you wanted to do something on windows there was already a program out there built to do it. whereas mac is more... elitist and there are much less programs for faffing around on. however, for industry (you can pick whatever industry you like...) macs are the answer. i'm doing a degree in audio engineering and therefore need to KNOW that my equipment will work every time. and in my experience, and that of my tallented and knowledgable lecturers aggree that you can only get the stability you need with apple. they just work... its brilliant... and the new generation of macs (which im lucky enough to have one of) can; A, run windows in parallels at a speed thats almost useable in its own right! so if you want windows AND mac, you can only do that ON mac B, if you want the full speed of windows then you can partition and boot cam and run them simultaniously C, with programs like Crossover and Macindows you can run windows apps (at a very good speed) natively! (i personaly use it on the windows build of cubase 5 and project 64) and they run flawlessly. the topper that really tips it for me tho, the battery life! i had a NETBOOK (advent 4211) with an extra 9 cell battery, and my macbook pro will exceed its battery life without fail and with 10x the performance and flair! windows users (me included not 1 year ago!) hate macs. its a fact, but spend a real ammount of time on one, and try to enjoy it and you'l find that they're better... its the truth. the're expensive and unobtainable but they are truly great. (hackintoshes cost no more than PC's remember... an theres snow leopard builds out now so you have no excuse not to at least try)

the touch screen novelty will wear off and your paying more for the x64 operating system when it has 4GB of ram... the only reason to use x64 is to use more than that... if it goes wrong or you want to upgrade OS in future, drivers will b a bitch... x64 and a touch screen... recepie for a stress filled afternoon if you ask me

wow uve made this more complicated than it needs 2 be!!! plug it in, let it do its auto install bollocks. go 2 control pannel, system, device manager find the aformentions vision cammera, (that will have auto installed) and right click and uninstall it. it *should* dissapear from the list after uninstalation. now at the top, click "action, scan for new legacy hardware" it should now find it again now go onto it, tell it to update drivers by searching online. the new drivers itl find will allow it to work (yes with a mic) in all *windows based* cammera programs (so thats msn, windows live, office 2003...etc) and with some gentle persuasion it can be made to work in this like AMCap and photoshop as an image dump source. the mic in it does appear to work in windows live, i havent tested in anything else however. to be honest with you all, use the sony eyetoy in stead. you can pick one up for around ã5 and the resolution (640x480) and the clarity are by far superior. and the instalation is much cleaner and reliable. itl also work in skype, aim... etc. just my input... yup
