thats very weird... it was built to work on kalyway and thats the only disk i could get it to work on (i used it to install kalyway onto a netbook i used to have) unfortunately i dont know mate if you have a friend with a mac you could get them to "restore" the iso to a usb pen drive and install from there (VERY fast install, works a treat) but other than that i have to be honest, you'd need a disk drive
-
is that the iatkos 7i disk? because if so then it wont work with the HD install helper. it wont work with anything above 10.5.2 i believe (iatkos is 10.5.7) i suggest you try Kalyway 10.5.2, VERY high compatibilty on that disk

theres no specific place im afraid, just open it up and have a good look all around the mobo for a manufacturer stamp. im sure there will be at least one good luck
-
could you open up your computer and tell us what the manufacturer is? i want to make sure i advice you the right chipset drivers and that depends on knowing your mobo. itl also help me to tell you the right sound card drivers. if you dont feel comfertable opening up your computer i understand, but it would greatly help
-
indeed that would help, and as for finding out hardware i strongly suggest "Everest Ultimate" it tells you basicaly everything you'd need to know about your hardware
-
graphics card = good CPU = good Ram = good i need to know the specific wifi card (or at least the chipset) and your mobo model. let me know
-
you were right to recomend me quinn i am the resident hackintosh geek ok, so this is your best bet without a disk drive, and i have to be honest, its not easy. http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/qq172/stokrenden/15.jpg its called, "Leopard HD Install Helper" and its been in 0.3 beta for around 2 years (not gona get updated my friend) its a Japanese app but i have edited the files to allow it to run in an almost english mode... (best i could do..) anyway, heres the download http://www.mediafire.com/?oziddttzg3g - (may need to be ran in compatibility mode for XP SP2 btw, im not certain, and certainly with admin privileges) ok for instructions on use, i suggest you look here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110388 its probably the most in depth guide you will find. btw, if you could just borrow a working disk drive, or move the iso onto a pen drive and burn it at a friends, you would make your life 100x easier. this method is NOT for beginners. if you need any help with drivers (kexts) kernel panics, and what not, send me a pm or a reply here. last bit of advice for a hackintosh newbie, start off with a pre hacked build (iAtkos S3 2 is probably your best bet to get a working snow leopard, iDeneb 10.5.8 lite is best for leopard) dont just jump in to booting from a legit apple dvd, that makes the process much more tricky. pre hacked builds are usualy very user friendly iAtkos is certainly VERY easy, with GREAT driver support. Btw, what are your system components? CPU, Graphics, Sound, MoBo, Wifi/Ethernet...etc... cos there all important Good luck m8!
-
well if you're sure you want to do it then thats your choice... but i cant help you. if you'd prefer the vista scroling bar boot screen i can help there though...
-
why the hell do you care? if your computer is even half decent it only appears for like 5 seconds haha. and on xp and other builds of windows where swapping it out was simple, it was HIGHLY risky and ballsed up many a computer. give up on this pal, just go have a dump while your comp boots. save yourself a hastle.
-
you beat me to the picture i wanted to use! ah well, the message still applies. he is indeed a homo

i will trade you my neighbours cat. they're on holiday and yesterday it was ran over by a removal van. i don't think they'l mind if i trade it with you. condition is... less than perfect, but i got almost all its entrails back inside (spleen was too stuck to the road to put back... sorry!) i can send it to you whatever form you like, as is? grilled, in a food bag? blended? (smoothies = YUM!) or if you like, i could hollow it out and make you a stylish hat? (think davy crocket ) so, how would you like to arrange the trade?
