http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/electronic-arts/battlefield/battlefield3/BF3_Sniper_GDC.jpg With the military shooter battle between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 shaping up to be one of the most intense rivalries in video game history, we've been waiting for more shots to be fired between the soon-to-be-warring factions. Consider this the latest escalation. Aggregame points out the rather surprising news that ModernWarfare3.com, a domain you'd assume Activision would have purchased years ago, currently redirects visitors to the Battlefield 3 website. This redirect just went into place yesterday, but the ModernWarfare3.com domain was registered via GoDaddy in 2009. Some have speculated that EA itself is behind this bold move, but the more likely scenario is that some devoted Battlefield fans (or devoted Activision haters) registered the domain before Activision thought of it and just now put this into place as a blow against the publisher. If that's not enough goofiness for you, ModernWarfare4.com was also registered by someone other than Activision. The devoted PC gamer who picked up this domain is angry at Activision for removing dedicated servers from Modern Warfare 2 and is currently running a poll to help figure out what to do with the domain that the publisher would presumably eventually want to use. The lesson? Publishers, get those domains registered early and often, even if it means rumor stories running on all of the blogs. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/07/11/modernwarfare3-com-leads-browsers-to-battlefield-3-website.aspx
I've come to the conclusion that the whole world is screwed. Most of those companies have their fingers in every market out there. And they have politicians in their pocket. Maybe that Deus Ex trailer wasn't far off with saying in 2027 corporations have more power than the government.
And they sold their soul to a large corporation. They're going to work with activision. Get ready for a game a year, 1600 ms point mappacks that were copy/pasted from campaign, Brown n bloom, Bungie elite and the inevitable subscription fees that activision keeps talking about implementing. Can't wait for Kotick to gut another good dev. Of course EA's no better, they've ****** up bioware, second party seems to be the worst choice you can make. You should either go first party (oddly enough Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo let first party devs do what they like) or stay third. Actually publishing through rockstar would be good too, but not the two big ones Activision and EA.

Seriously, I live for this sort of stuff, useless information, corporations doing this sort of stuff, I'd hug you if I could.
Here's another
To late the singularity is immanent. Also I've watched a few more of this guys videos and holy shit, this sort of information is my crack, I know what I'll be doing for the next hour or so.
******* awesome. I can't wait for the inevitable AI vs AI war and then the AI vs Human war that will follow, and then the AI/Human hybrid vs Alien war that will follow that.
