Mass Effect 2: You're an interstellar space therapist dealing mainly in father figure issues. You spend most of the game helping various people solve their personal problems and beating away females sexual advances on you.

Technically accurate yet highly misleading game summaries. EG Oblivion: The story of an escaped convict who makes off with the emperors prized amulet. Assassins Creed: A bartender must get into a machine and pretend to kill historical figures for the good of humanity. GTA4: You're a popular guy who has a colorful group of mufti racial friends and is frequently asked to go bowling and shit.

At the heart of Halo 4 is a stronger focus than ever before behind story telling and player choice. Players will be offered an unprecedented level of customization and a narrative experience never before seen in a first person shooter. On a technical level Halo 4 pushes the boundaries of the action genre by incorporating larger battlefields than ever before and players will experience conflicts that seamlessly span land, sea and space Well I hope they keep that in. And I hope the single player becomes more of a focus, I'm not a huge fan of halo MM (I like it well enough it's not a religion like it seems to be with most people here) but I really like the universe. Also the second bit sounds awesome sort of like a halo battlefield mash up.

The Darkness 2 project director Sheldon Carter believes that Apple's iPad poses a threat to traditional home consoles, expressing his "absolute" belief that it will encroach on the market. "I think the home console experience is going to be with us for a long time," he said. "Do I think that the iPad will encroach? Absolutely, it has to. You think about how many iPads are out there already, iPads and other mobile devices. "But I don't think it'll be exclusive, I don't think that just because somebody buys one of those things they wouldn't buy a console." Carter said it would be "awesome" to have a Darkness game on an iPad, with swipe controls for the demon arms. Sounds ripe for the Wii U version, right? That's like saying an Imac will give a $1000 gaming PC a run for it's money.

“Halo 4 returns players to the story of the Master Chief and Cortana in the events that follow the conclusion of Halo 3. Players will experience an all new story and introduce a new roster of enemies and weapons to the Halo experience. Set against the top secret Forerunner planetoid known to ONI as Sigma 7, players will encounter a dark new foe and unravel more of the mysteries behind the forerunners and the Office of Naval Intelligence. At the heart of Halo 4 is a stronger focus than ever before behind story telling and player choice. Players will be offered an unprecedented level of customization and a narrative experience never before seen in a first person shooter. On a technical level Halo 4 pushes the boundaries of the action genre by incorporating larger battlefields than ever before and players will experience conflicts that seamlessly span land, sea and space. Halo 4 will expand the series trademark arsenal of weapons and vehicles beyond any other title so far. Players can expect fan favorites to return along with new additions. Halo 4 will also feature the revolutionary new Arsenal Improvisation Mechanics that allow for menu-free, creative customization of weapons and vehicles in the heat of combat. Players will take their fight to a new level by dynamically tailoring their weapons and vehicles to suit any situations or enemies.†At the moment it seems 343 are focusing on the new and improved story and weapons system (of which the new AIM mechanic is only mysteriously alluded to) but there was some video shown that fills in some of the gaps. Halo 4 is set on a Forerunner planet that has an inner and outer surface that provides two distinct styles. The outside is very industrial and features a wide range of hostile Forerunner tech and AI. The video showed space combat here. The inside of the planetoid is hollow and is sectioned off in to many tiers/bands (almost resembling Halo rings) that feature a myriad of natural environments not only resembling earth’s but many other alien terrains. The video featured combat across a multitude of environments from space to mountains, plains and oceans. Presumably, ONI had been top secretly researching the planet for some. There are UNSC forces on the planet but they look really degraded and disorganized and it was implied that they may be divided into factions and warring with each other. At one point we see a heavily modified warthog that has had the wheels replaced two kind of anti gravity devices. At another point the Chief is clearly sprinting which possibly implies a return of armor abilities. There was no sign of the Flood or the Covenant but at the very end of the trailer the ‘dark new threat’ was hinted at. The video ends with the Chief standing at a dark cave entrance and from within can be heard some menacing gurgling and grunting. Cortana says “They’re coming back … and there’s a LOT more of them this timeâ€, the Master chief then readies a new weapon that looks like a cross between a rocket launcher and a Needler and it focuses on his helmet and visor and a number of strange digital effects ripple across his visor then the videos ends. http://www.gameblurb.net/news/halo-4-details-leaked/

I can't even wrap my mind around how fast they're going to be, once that stuff is released everything else will be obsolete. And that dream PC you posted would need to be upgraded. So I was right about that five years.

You, sir, can go **** yourself. It won like six Goatys. Also LA Niore is getting ported to PC.

http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/rockstar/reddeadredemption/red%20dead%20redemptionroundtable3.jpg We assumed that Marston's encounter with the undead would be Rockstar's final expansion for its critically-acclaimed western, but the company has announced that more DLC is on the way, along with a chance to nab some major bonus XP during the upcoming holiday weekend. Rockstar revealed the existence of the DLC in a response to a fan's inquiry on Twitter, stating that a release date and details will be announced "in the coming weeks." How the company plans to top a zombie apocalypse is anyone's guess, but we hope the new DLC will be another major expansion, and not just more additions to multiplayer. Speaking of multiplayer: Rockstar has announced a quadruple XP weekend for July 4th, starting at 12:01AM Eastern this Friday, and running until midnight on Monday. Quadruple XP will apply to all multiplayer modes, including free roam, and Undead Overrun. via GI

http://www.gameinformer.com/resized-image.ashx/__size/610x0/__key/CommunityServer-Components-SiteFiles/imagefeed-featured-news-research/pcm610.jpg IBM just revealed its new phase-change memory (PCM) tech that could drastically change computing and gaming. IBM says that PCM is able to write and retrieve data 100 times faster than Flash memory. It also lasts much longer, surviving 10 million write cycles compared to the 3,000 cycles of Flash that the average consumer can use. This kind of advancement should be super expensive, right? Engadget reports that it'll be cheap enough to use on everything from business servers to cell phones. IBM claims that PCM will herald a "paradigm shift" when it hits the market in 2016. Since it's so far off, we'll likely not see it in the next Xbox or PlayStation, but Nintendo might be ready for a follow up to the Wii U at that point. [Via: Engadget]

And in five to ten years, you won't be able to run anything on minimum. I love you technology, but you are also a total asshole.

A bill has been proposed that, if passed, could mean jail time for those of us who stream videogame footage to Youtube and Justin.tv. In other words, this site, many other sites, and potentially a lot of you guys. An excellent editorial at Shoryuken explains the bill in detail. Bill S.978, known colloquially as the "Anti-Streaming Bill," seeks to "amend the criminal penalty provision for criminal infringement of a copyright." Though the bill has been written with film and music in mind, the wording easily incorporates games, and many gamers are quite worried about what it could mean for them. Videogame livestreaming has become a big part of online gamer culture, especially in the past year. Destructoid itself hosts several shows on our own Justin.tv channel, and they've proven to be immense fun. By turning a civil legal issue into a criminal one, the government would get to dictate our business practices and dole out ludicrously harsh punishments. The bill has been worded in a disturbingly vague manner, preparing to slap fines and up to five years jail-time upon those who engage in a "performance" that becomes popular and makes over $2500. This is not law yet, and hopefully it won't be. Nevertheless, it's disgusting how these prehistoric thinkers are still trying to fight Internet culture, rather than work with it. I can personally attest that Conrad Zimmerman and Jordan Devore's "Saturday Morning Hangover" show has done a great job of promoting Xbox Live Indie Games, and streams across the Internet can shed light on forgotten gems and interesting new titles. But of course, companies want all of their money immediately, with no thought to long-term benefit and the potential of viral marketing. Thus yet more online freedom is at risk in the pursuit of instant gains by infantile executives. Hopefully, the muddy writing of the bill will see it shot down, as such imprecise proposals often are. Whatever happens, it is a grim reminder that there are many out-of-touch individuals who lack an understanding of current culture yet want to control it with unchallenged dominance. So that's nice.

http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/gameinformer/misc/overflow/scotland-yard.jpg A 19-year-old teenager in Essex, England has been arrested in connection with a denial of service attack from LulzSec. Scotland Yard is also examining any relation to the Sony PSN attack. Develop reports that the suspect was arrested specifically regarding a denial of service attack on the Serious Organized Crime Agency website, which LulzSec seemingly bragged about in a tweet. Scotland Yard is also investigating whether this person had any ties to the PSN attack. The agency says it is currently sifting through "a significant amount of material" found at the hacker's residence.

A mother beat her five year old son to the point of internal injuries leading to his death because he accidentally broke the TV while playing Wii. He was vomiting and complaining of agonizing pain (signs of internal injury) for five days before he died and she did nothing because she was scared of being punished for beating her son to such a state. Holy ****, I hate everyone. Read more.
