/agree According to the specs, they have NO L3 cache at all, and like 2mb of L2 cache. For those that don't speak geek, that means buy a Phenom, if you are going to buy an AMD in the first place
This won't work online, unless you do some secret ninja glitch that people are being douches about and keeping it a secret. Even then, apperently you get banned >>
If the original cooler looks adaquate, then take it off, remove the shitty thermal paste and put on some high quality stuff. (24 carat diamond thermal compound brings my cpu temps down around 10-15c)
I just bought: an AMD Phenom II 720 (Tri-core, hope to unlock to quad) an ASROCK AM3 mobo (not gonna go into details, too lazy) 4 gigs of DDR3 ram a ATI Radeon 5750 (Direct X 11 ) --- What I already have 600W PSU ATX Full tower 750gb WD Caviar Green assorted dvd drives etc. -- Pray that nothing is DOA, don't want to have to be putting this all together when exams are going
I have 5, They are all in a closet in my basement One is crank operated, just incase I want to listen to some music when the power goes out. (Yes, I have records )
I was looking at buying myself one, but they seemed a little too big for me. I'm looking at the Zune HD now. I'm a sound freak, I hate when songs don't sound natural.
I've had to fix one. I found it terrible to work on. Just my opinion. /important points. --- If you want to try gaming on that PC, it won't be very good, mainly because the video card is an integrated model, that has 256mb of shared memory. This means it leaches off the ram. It also has a Athlon II x2. Immediately from the title, we know it is an AM3 processor, with a total of 2mb Level 2 cache, and no Level 3 cache at all, these specs are shared by all Athlon IIs. Essentially, an Athlon II is a huge step down from a Phenom II (which has 6mb of Level 3 cache), so try and go with that, if you want to go with AMD at all.
