Alright, Thanks.

I'm currently working on a course project that involves a database-driven PHP script with user access features. I've never worked with PHP before and I'm currently working on the basics of the user authentication system. Can anyone guide me in the right direction in terms of how to process a login form to: - Check the details in the database - Create a session - Load certain values from the user table and store them as variables (one namely "user_type" which defines the privleges the user has) - Load content appropriate to that user type I current have in mind three different user types; an admin, staff and client. I want different content to be displayed on the page for each type. For example, I want the admin to have options to add and edit users and content for clients, while clients can only view and download the content given to them etc.

"Also Macs protect against viruses 1000x better than they do on PC" Because you're so restricted to what you can/can't do, what files you can/can't read/write to, that you'd have to purpously give yourself a virus! Hackers and restrictions don't get along. "Microsoft Office is available for the Mac..." ...and for the PC. Among many other free variations NOT made by microsoft (openoffice being a popular one) "a Mac is 100 percent safe from viruses designed to attack PCs." And PCs are 100% safe from viruses that only harm macs too. Your point? "...the Mac is built on a solid UNIX foundation and designed with security in mind..." ...which is why it's not really mac anymore, because they realised that Unix was the way forward, took OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE and sold it as MAC! "The Mac web browser, Safari, alerts you whenever youââ¬â¢re downloading an application ââ¬â even if itââ¬â¢s disguised as a picture or movie file." Whereas on a PC, you can't discuise an aplication as a picture or movie file. I don't know what applications you've been downloading, mate And that is a function of Safari, the internet browser. That's not part of the operating system, just like Internet Explorer is not part of windows. Anyway, that's irrelivent. You'd just get Firefox anyway "And Apple continually makes free security updates available for Mac owners. You can even have them download automatically." Guess where they stole that from? I'll give you a hint. Have you ever heard of Windows Update? "A Mac has hundreds of drivers for peripherals preinstalled." Whereas on Windows, it doesn't fill up your hard drive with useless drivers for products you're not going to use in a million years! You want a driver? Use the driver CD that came with your device. Failing that, use Google! "And a Mac is smart enough to know what to do when you plug in your digital camera: It opens iPhoto and asks if you want to import your recent photos." Smart is not the word. The last thing I want when I plug in my USB stick that happens to have music on it, is for it to start playing the songs while I try and find that text document I wanted to append. "If you have a network at home or at work, whether wired or wireless, a Mac will fit right in." So does EVERY OTHER COMPUTER IN THE WORLD! "All new Mac computers are Wi-Fi capable. Available wireless networks automatically show up." And the last thing you want for your purpously-offline video-editing computer is for it to keep connecting to every damn wifi-point it finds. If you don't want wifi, why pay for it? "...Apple builds both the computer and the software that comes with it, theyââ¬â¢re literally made for each other." So do Palm. Have you ever heard of them? No? Didn't think so "And Mac OS X resists most viruses..." You mean people don't bother writing viruses for macs, because windows is a much more common operating system. "Every Mac comes with service and support thatââ¬â¢s consistently voted the best in the business." Voted by whom? I've never been asked. Have you? And I've fixed this part for you: Hackers, don't need to be reminded what to use (linux/unix). Twatty arty fancy "OOh, look at this! it looks nice, but serves no practicle purpose" people that can't use google, get macs. And for everyone else, there's Windows. XP. Not vista. "Macs protect against viruses 1000x better than they do on PC" my ass! If you're smart, you're fine. Security is easy. If you're an idiot and open up .exe attachmemts in your e-mails from the zimbabwein lottery, or your dead uncle who's riches you've just inherited, you don't deserve to own a computer! I just got told by miinaturvat, Therefore, I have chosen to stop replying to this topic. lol. Anyway since he has won the argument someone needs to close this topic, and not even bother replying because miinaturvat just told us all. But overall I still chose Mac and I always will.

iBotPeaches said like the same thing on the first part of your sentence and your basically copying him, but who cares, MAC FOR THE WIN. End of discussion. Close topic please?
-
You could do that, but it's a lot more work and takes to much time and there are a lot of lazy people around the world so why not go buy one. Oh well, I think we should just let lostmodz26 decide what he wants he has got several opinions to choose from, Lets just let this topic go now.

Mac is better than windows so get the Mac. End of discussion.

Most of the above information is true but Macs are a lot faster and well they might be expensive to some people but for good reason, They are fast, Rarely ever crash or freeze and a lot more, but if you have used a Mac before and you like the programs that are in there like Keynote, Pages, iPhoto etc. Then get the Mac because you can't use Mac programs on a PC but you can use both on a Mac and they also have a wonderful battery life that can almost last a whole work day while PC has a crappy battery life. Also the shutdown and log on time for Macs are a 100x faster than they are on PC. Also Macs protect against viruses 1000x better than they do on PC and Macs never really slow down but PC's do a lot. So get the Mac. Trust me. More info below: Frequantly Asked Questions about Macs: Can a Mac run Windows and Microsoft Office? Yes. Microsoft Office is available for the Mac, and Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files created on a Mac are fully compatible with Windows. Most other popular applications are available for the Mac, too. But if you need to use a particular Windows-only application, you have a few options: Boot Camp comes with every new Mac, and it lets you run Windows natively ââ¬â as if your Mac were a PC. If you want to run Mac OS X and Windows side by side, you can purchase Parallels Desktop for Mac or VMware Fusion. Install one of these applications, along with the Windows Installation CDs, and you can run the occasional Windows program right next to your Mac applications, without having to restart. Is a Mac safe from PC viruses? Yes, a Mac is 100 percent safe from viruses designed to attack PCs. And although no computer connected to the Internet is completely immune to all viruses and spyware, the Mac is built on a solid UNIX foundation and designed with security in mind. The Mac web browser, Safari, alerts you whenever youââ¬â¢re downloading an application ââ¬â even if itââ¬â¢s disguised as a picture or movie file. And Apple continually makes free security updates available for Mac owners. You can even have them download automatically. Will my PC devices (cameras, printers, hard drives) work with a Mac? A Mac has hundreds of drivers for peripherals preinstalled. Just connect your device and, in most cases, youââ¬â¢re good to go. And a Mac is smart enough to know what to do when you plug in your digital camera: It opens iPhoto and asks if you want to import your recent photos. Can I join Windows networks? Yes. If you have a network at home or at work, whether wired or wireless, a Mac will fit right in. You can share files with any computer on your network, browse the web, and get your work or home email. What about Wi-Fi? All new Mac computers are Wi-Fi capable. Available wireless networks automatically show up. Just select the network you want to join, enter a password if necessary, and youââ¬â¢re connected. Is a Mac reliable? When you buy a PC, youââ¬â¢re buying hardware from one company and an operating system and software from other companies. Not so with a Mac. Because Apple builds both the computer and the software that comes with it, theyââ¬â¢re literally made for each other. This means that a Mac rarely freezes or crashes. Occasionally an application might quit, but it wonââ¬â¢t affect the rest of your system. And Mac OS X resists most viruses, so you can do anything ââ¬â without worrying about losing everything. What kind of support can I expect? Every Mac comes with service and support thatââ¬â¢s consistently voted the best in the business. If you have a problem in the first year of owning your new Mac, you can take it to an Apple Retail Store to get it fixed or figured out. And if you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan, you extend your service and support to up to three years. The Apple Retail Store also offers services like ProCare, which gives you priority support, and One to One, which provides personal training on your Mac. Each service costs $99 a year. Is it easy to learn how to use a Mac? Every Mac is created with the guiding principle that computers should be easy to use, so you can spend more time doing what you love and less time figuring out how your computer works. If youââ¬â¢ve never owned a Mac, you may need a little time to get used to it. But within a week or two, chances are youââ¬â¢ll get along like old friends. And because all Mac applications are designed to work in the same, intuitive way, once you learn one application ââ¬â iTunes, for example ââ¬â youââ¬â¢ll quickly pick up iPhoto, Mail, or any of the other software that comes with your Mac. Why should I spend more money on a Mac? When you compare the cost of a PC and factor in the additional software, memory, and other extras you have to buy to go along with it, the difference in price between a Mac and PC isnââ¬â¢t as great as most people believe. And because the Mac comes with so many built-in applications that youââ¬â¢ll enjoy using for both work and play (rather than useless freebies youââ¬â¢ll want to uninstall), a Mac makes good financial sense. Finally, a Mac is built with the most cutting-edge technology by some of the smartest hardware engineers, software developers, and product designers on the planet. So youââ¬â¢re getting the latest technological advances and a computer that isnââ¬â¢t in danger of becoming obsolete anytime soon. How do I move my files to a Mac? If you buy a Mac at an Apple Retail or Online Store along with One to One you'll get Personal Setup where we'll transfer your files, install any new Apple software you've purchased, and put it in all the right places. So, get the Mac.

Correct me if I am wrong, But I think Warez-BB has been up longer than us, IBM is only like 3 years old and Warez-BB is older than that, They have so many members because it is a Warez site and Wadio did not make them any more popular than they already were, Maybe more people enjoyed it but it did not make them any more popular. And they have people with over 50,000 posts and we only have someone that has like 5,000 They are just a lot more active than we are. Maybe if people were a lot more active and a lot more posts were made we could get more members but im not sure and also don't download things on Warez-BB because Warez slows down your computer and can sometimes steal your personal information. End of discussion, Close this topic please. IBM is awesome, Warez-BB sucks.

http://espn.go.com/v...clip?id=4574631 STORRS, Conn. -- A University of Connecticut football player died Sunday following an on-campus stabbing, hours after the team's victory over Louisville. Twenty-year-old Jasper Howard of Miami, a junior and starting cornerback, was stabbed during a fight early Sunday. A message posted on the university's Web site said the fight and stabbing happened near Hillside Road, which is near the center of the Storrs campus. The perpetrator was still at large.University president Michael Hogan told The Associated Press that the stabbing is a tragedy for the entire university community. He says state police are working with campus police. A message with UConn police was not immediately returned. Howard was credited with 11 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in UConn's 38-25 victory Saturday over Louisville. He led the Big East in punt returns last season.

I just thought this might be a good idea, If we end up doing this can we also make a forum for it? Also, Possibly maybe even a new Group of people to do that stuff If so, I would like to be in that group? I just think this is a good idea, However some may think this is a stupid idea, Whatever you think, Post you thoughts here. Thanks
