Yeh, just to some up what they said... log in press CTRL+ALT+DEL Kill any processes that seem suspicious (recommended you do so by opening up "msconfig" from the "Run" menu and disabling the processes from that as you can hide any Microsoft processes) If you used MSConfig, restart your computer, log in and press CTRL+ALT+DEL again. Go to "New Process" and type in "explorer.exe" Load up an internet browser and download any of the above recommended virus removing programs and sweep your computer. I had a similar problem only it wasn't caused by a virus, more like a direct screw-over from Micro$oft. I got Windows Vista with a serial key, and I registered and it told me I had entered a correct key. About a month later it just shut off and said I had an invalid product key. But, due to their super-smartness, I was able to use the "buy a product key online" option, which opened up FireFox, to exploit Vista to next-to-full use by launching explorer.exe.

Guns..... Finally... Too bad about Halo 3 though...I'd like to see this thing go up against a chopper...in the mean time though...- *killing frenzy* XD
-
Did you make a film clip or save a whole film? 'Cause if you saved the whole film then I'm afraid you've already released it
-
Meh, I posted in the HIH one, I have no comment left.

EditZ: Whups, wrong thread. How'd I pull that off? Lol anyways ignore, delete, and carry on w/ your normal lives now XD

Please stop phailing him, he may know what he's talking about. By the sound of it, he has the key but does not know how to make it into a resigner. Unless you have more information and a good reason to do so, please do not phail other members. That is very mean and disrespectful. EditZ: May I also point out that Smokiest Grunt highly outranks you. Epic Phailing him may not be such a good idea

There's the method indicated in this topic, viral customs, and saved films distribution. Each of these leaves about a .2% chance of getting caught....

Hmm...Kinda like the concept and *cough* compared to some other first mods and even some *coughcough* not-so-first-mods this is actually pretty good. If you don't mind, I'd like to make some suggestions: FULLY block out the sun, more than 1 frigate mby? Straighten the warthog pallets. I suggest place some weapon holders and put radio antenna's on top of them and replace the antenna's with the pallets.
-
Yeah Fearzone actually looks pretty fun. We'll have to see when it's all released tho.
-
Are you positive? I'm pretty sure It's been done before
-
Yeah pretty much. The ports for it are not forwarding, so the NAT on my router prevents about 75% of the seeders from connecting and transferring to my computer.
-
Wait...you mean the sandbags are scenery objects? I always thought they were BSP... But they're scenery...and Bungie didn't put them in forge? I'm sure if used effectively they could really improve a bunch of maps... Map looks pretty good too.
-
I've downloaded mods that way before. I even got this epic suicide map from HIH before it was supposed to be released with this method ^.^ As for distributing the CON files themselves over the internet, that would be possible but not very effecient as not many people have XSATA's, and on top of that AND despite many detailed tutorials, still less people know how to use them for CON transferring.
-
Yeah forwarding works perfect on Belkin. It's just the NAT on that brand. TrendNet is a little iffy though... I guess I can just settle at 12 hours for a 700MB....Even though a direct connection to the modem can get me 300kbps with good seeds....O well. I'll just leave this in case someone comes along though.
-
Yeah I gotta admit, this isn't the best map, and more of just a test map than anything with any thought put into it whatsoever. However this talk about the Friday Showcase has got me pretty stoked, I'm sure you guys have some great stuff packed away.

As you've surely noticed Bungie is definitely cracking down on modded fileshares. Modders have tried not making forum topics and changing the author of the con file, and this has significantly reduced visibility, but bannings are still being made. As of now, Bungie is seeming to be but a roadblock, but the lurkers appear to be getting anxious and it's just a matter of time before Bungie moves on the assault. This would most likely not affect some modders out there, but there would still be many at risk. modded maps and screenshots send up a red flag on BNet when uploaded to the fileshare...but I am making this to offer two alternate and safer methods of map distribution. 1. .:.Viral Customs.:. This is by far my favorite pick and IMO the most effecient. The fileshare itself is not used, and this method is COMPLETELY undetectable. The fact that only people who join the party will be able to have the map may seem inconvenient, but this is really a great way to filter out the bad and the n00B so that only the good mods will achieve XBL-wide success. 2. .:.Recent Films = Recent Maps.:. My Tech Specs on how this method works may be a little off, but the point is: It works. When you save a film in Theater mode and upload it to your fileshare, it uploads the forge con file alongside it but it is part of the film itself and not visible. When a user downloads the modded film on the fileshare (I'd reccomend naming it something like "overkill" or "double headshot") the con file downloads too. Once the user is done watching the saved film, the forge CON will appear in the recent maps list to be downloaded. As to why this works, I'm just assuming it uses the forge CON file to load up the location of everything at the start of the film to cut back on space. Note: This does not work with Film Clips!!!! 3. .:.Direct CON Injection/XSATA.:. Another likely method, however ineffecient due to the fact that not everyone has a XSATA. But this method does have it's advantages: (-) Modding clans. Uploading the CON file privately on a modding clan website will ensure leak protection. (-) Banned people/People w/o XBL. For people who have been fileshare/XBL banned, they can still have access to other peoples mods. And so can people with expired XBL accounts/People who can't afford XBL/People on slow internet connections. ~Good luck, and happy modding!

Public Posts = No Friends & Modding Clans (not saying I approve of them) = Yes. Unless you get lucky...which it appears Slipstream is willing to help That's not gonna happen everytime tho... But also I may include a filefront or rapidshare link to your con file for faster, easier access...

Impossible? No. Going to take a long-a** time? Yes... Remember what Anth0ny said about a custom kernel being released... The would disable Xbox lIve, while allowing unsigned code. I don't know much about the specs of this or even the definition of "custom kernel", but I assume it is a very time-consuming process to develope it and would function similarly to a modded dashboard. *Goes to XB-S to check info* EditZ: w00T H34dx first same-time-post on iBotModz!!

Trendnet (Belkin does it to) has a NAT fail-safe which will disable the uplink port when NAT is disabled, allowing for only LAN file transfer.
-
(-) Try Reinstalling the program (-) Go to Microsoft.com and download/install the newest available .NET Framework (-) If you can, try on a different computer. If all else fails, you may have a bad program/virus. But yeah, upload here I'm sure some people who know this stuff better than me could look into and tell you what's going on.

̵̉Torrent Port: 59091 Computer Static IP on net.: 192.168.1.136 Router IP: 192.168.1.1 I've gone to virtual server in the Trendnet Router menu and entered all the setting for ̵̉Torrent under TCP, just like it shows at portforward.com. Yet afterwards, when I run the check it still says the port is closed and ̵̉Torrent is getting minimal seeds. I managed to forward my iPod, Xbox 360, stepdad's blackberry, and WinSCP (on 192.168.1.136) and all that worked fine but not ̵̉Torrent. Can anyone help?

You can save the map to your harddrive. Haven't tried it myself yet, but I've done it with other mods and it works just fine. EditZ: Wait...it really depends on if you saved the whole film or just a film clip. If it's just a film clip, the forge con file isn't downloaded and all the information is in the theatre con file; however if you saved the whole film it downloads the forge file and loads it up to start the game, and then adds the map to your recent maps list.

A CON signer would affect neither Matchmaking nor .Map modding in any way shape or form. the main threat of abuse of a con signer is it's potential to resign your profile, allowing you to change things like Gamerscore, and more importantly M$ points. If the resigner worked specifically for Halo, it would have been leaked ages ago. With a Con signer, you wouldn't be able to get past death barriers or ruin Bungie. Though I do agree with you that Bungie did everything in their power to completely ruin Halo 3 Matchmaking for anyone who wasn't already insanely good at the game. I tell you, if I ever get past my 33...I'm gonna be f*ckin' amazed. Halo 2 was and still is bottom-line the best XBL game I've ever played (mind you haven't gotten to play COD4 yet.)
-
He may be asking what exactly happens when M$ bans your 360's keypair. I know it ruins all user created content* signed under your 360's keypair unless you can go through the trouble of resigning it with a working keypair... But that leaves me with a question that would in turn answer his question... When M$ bans your keypair, does it assign you a new, working one? If yes, then you could still create forge content. If no, would there be any way to get custom content working again without having to manually resign every time you save changes? * ~ O ya, this applies to arcade games, downloaded movies, etc.. anything that uses a .CON file.

test quote lololol Continuin' the chain. I'd like to see this completed But we'd better come up with somethin' productive so this doesn't get locked. BTW, I move to classify any posts that aren't a series of nested quotes as SPAM. Any seconds?
