That happened to me also after my 1st xbox to it's first shat then it shat and died. EDIT:Well seems like that wasn't much help but here's what I did,took a knife to it. I did that after I new that it wasn't going to work again,but it sort of fixed it.

Oh here's something fun. The reason the touch isn't always doing random crap in your pocket is because you give off a slight magnetic shock or something along the lines of that. It can't go threw your clothes and that's what makes the touch screen work.
