Please read, this is for your own safety! As many of us know, there are cetain programs out there that will send points or extend/renew your subscription to xbox live or for M$ marketplace. I am going to give you all the reasons you should NOT get one of these. This whole article is written by me, not copied. Do not disagree, I did a test and the research. 1. The main type you will find are ones with FAKE exe files in them, that don't open a program, just a virus that will mess up your computer in a nasty way. 2. Scams. One of the types of gens you will find out there. It will ask you for your gamertag and windows live/hotmail/xbox.com ID or whatever password. Almost guarentied, your xbox live account will be stolen along with the windows live/hotmail/xbox.com ID. 3. Ones that just don't work at all. They open, then get an error, personally I thnk this is just to piss you off. Sometimes they have a virus in them, but usually don't. 4. Ones that do work (extremely rare, and totally wrong, I will get to this in a moment) These acually generate a working key for you, but are totally wrong. Why this is wrong: Now if you are thinking ah M$ is a multi billion doolar company, they don't need the money, you would probably be right. But what about the honest guy who goes to the store, buys a card, brings it home and tries it, only to find out it doesn't work. This is because you have taken his code. Legal stuff: M$ keeps track of all keys and such, Plus purchases, so this is one of the ways you will get caught. You can and will get fined, and if you are caught using it, then you could even serve jailtime. Another way you will get caugh is if Mr.Innocent brings back his card or watever to the store and says it does not work, M$ will likely track the key. No the SWAT team is not going to show up at your door, but it could be a serios fine and or jailtime. Remember this the next time you try one of these. I have done the research and have tested some on my own PC (not for personal gain, special note for M$ there). None have worked for me. I am NOT an employee of M$ or any related ar affiliated companys. Remeber this the next time you think of cheating M$ because good old Bill might come and bite you in the A#$. Srry for taking a long time about this, I just kinda forgot after the eeprom reader F$#@ed up my xbox even more. The guy wired it wrong and it fried my xbox totally and completly. He says in the ad that he will refund it if it does not work, but he won't even reply to the emails I send him. DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you just want music go to a cheapy store and get an mp3 thats like 1 gig for $20-$40.Archoses are good if you are on a large trip somewhere, they are like having a portable DVD player cause the speaker is really loud on the new ones. Personally I would get a cheapy mp3 and an archos and just use them when I want them. Plus, the archos is easy to fix if you need a new battery. They have them on ebay for $20 including shipping, or you could send it to archos and they will fix it, because you get a huge warrenty with them. Ipods I don't like partly because EVERYONE has them.

There are a lot of case mods and stories about things but I can't really find any actual firmware type hacks.

Don't get Action Replay DS. I had one and it just randomly stoped working. It just froze the DS.

I found a eeprom reader on ebay and it comes with software and instructions. You just plug it in the motherboard and in your computer I think.

I made a xbox hdd in HDM1.9 properly, since it was a 15 gig made an f partition and put it in my xbox resulting in error five (unlocked hd). This should have set the internal clock. Then I plugged my xbox hd in and got error 7. I looked it up and I tryed all the options and no luck. You say if nothing works, sell the xbox to you. I'm not quite at that stage yet. I am going to buy a eeprom reader and with some very smart programs I should be able to get my eeprom.bin file.

Sorry I may not have made it really clear what I was going to do. I will take the new xbox, softmod it, unlock the hdd through the softmod, make sure it has the M$ dash on it, place it in the busted xbox so that the dash can set the internal clock and get the unlocked hdd error, then get another random hdd, put the M$ dash on it, and from what I understand, slayers evox cd can boot up in a xbox, so have the cd boot up, then lock the random hdd and possibly have a working xbox.

I think I will try getting another xbox (I'm buying one for $20), unlocking the drive with a softmod, putting it in my busted xbox to set the internal clock, put the M$ dash on another hard drive, loading up slayes evox cd and locking the drive with that.

I called rogers today and even though it said on the website I could get it, they said to me over the phone it was unavailible. so, don't expect me on xbox live for another few years.

Oh, I had something like that before but I had to dial long distance so I got a huge phone bill.

I think I made my drive into a true paperweight. I got the method working, then after going into something I didn't want to, I rebooted my computer, then the method didn't work anymore. Then a while later I was working with it and the drive stoped spinning up/ starting up. Is the drive totally done. Or can we fix it?

I will try this tonight, will you be on around nine or so? Because I will be done by then.
