[iBotPeaches]

Over the past few months iBotModz has been dying greatly. Halo 3 Modding has halted and there is not much of need for Halo 2 modding anymore. The hit topics seem to be game saves which can be found on all invite-only sites. I'm not a fan of invite only, but over the years hosting iBotModz, I've decided to adapt a style used on Bungie.net. There will be 4 global ranks on the forum board. These will determine on what features you get. For example.

Member
-Default, no sig or custom avatar
-Only 1 chatbox post per 5 seconds
-Direct DL links not available yet

Heroic Member
-Sig and custom avatar allowed
-Chatbox time in between posts decreased
-Direct DL links opened up

Legendary Member
-Add a custom title to your name
-Forums such as "Game saves" will be opened up and indeed you get access to most of the site

Mythic Member
-This will act as our VIP and open up the VIP section to you.
-Hidden posts you will be able to see (An option during making post)

Obviously theres going to be a bunch more settings for each group, but its not finalized yet so I do not know. Herioc Member will be easy to get with just viewing 5 forums, 15 topics, and 1 post. Then get more difficult from there.

I've also been working on a YouTube clone just for gaming. It is the same software used on all those gimmick YouTube sites and it works just fine. However the max video I can upload right now is 100mb so I need to fix that.

We run the Invsion Power Board or IPB. This is the software that allows you to browse the forum and make posts. IPB 3 rumored to be the best forum software ever is set to be released on December something. However the private beta, alpha testing and other things start next week. This is what the new iBotModz will be using. During this upgrade the site's main content will change. All Halo sections will be generalized into one main category with (H2 Talk/News, H2 Modz, H2 Tuts, H2 Help, H2 Media) Those will be the same 5 forums used for Halo 3. Right now the "Lobby" is our main forum of discussion and I wish to get other communities involved, so the other sections of iBotModz such as "Computer Support" I will start making posts in.

We will be also adding a "Game Save" section. It will be a "Legendary Member" requirement to download files from it and fully be able to use it. However a "Herioc Member" will be able to see it, just without the download links. I hope that adding only USER MADE GameSaves and not stealing any will boost our popularity and help bring the site back.

IPB 3 is in a "Private Beta" for the whole month of November. This is the time where developers can re-develop those loved plugins/mods that everybody uses in their board. All I want is a chatbox and then we can add modifications latter.

The top 3 Google Searches are warez, hacks, and games. There is another in there, but were not adding it, so its pointless. I think we should adapt and add an arcade, hacks for computers and other things, and a Warez section. People love programs that hurt other people's computers and we already have that stuff just floating around in the VIP section. It could be another edition only for people "Mythic" and above. Notice I didn't say anything is definite, because I want any remaining members to come on by and suggest features that will you want added.

will the current vips still be vips or will we be reset to normal memebers and it mey bring alot of spamers i think atleast but other than that it sounds great

Thats wrong. He said "you have to view 5 different forums, and 15 different topics till you get upgraded. Thats not how many you can see. lol

** Exactly, normal members can basically view everything you can normally view now, with the exception of warez, and the VIP / Mythic Section.

** Staff are probably going to stay the same, only we get Mythic and Staff bars right off the bat.

** Active VIP's are probably going to stay, because current VIP's that aren't posting will be denied easy access to gamesaves that you should have to earn.

It's to make people earn what they are looking for.

Randoms shouldn't have such easy access to higher-leveled features.

Umm, I really don't mean to complain or anything, but I've been with this site for quite a while now.
I'm not sure how long ago this account was created, but I feel it is slightly unfair that you would generalize somebody on their post count.
I am fairly active here but I don't post. Its not exactly like I don't have anything to say, its because I know that half of it wouldn't contribute to the thread.

I don't mind being this "Regular" member, but I just feel it is slightly unfair to group peoples privelages on something that can be related to spam.
Considering I thought you were trying to encourage less spam, and more contributive posts.


I'm not asking for any special privelages, or for you to change the rules for the few members who are with the site, but I'd just like you to consider those who aren't getting these things because they consider their posts before posting them.

It all seems good. It will restrict a little but it'll give the members something to try and get and the new sections are gonna be very popular. It may result in spamming but that can be controlled so I'm sure everything will be great.
