No programs except for itunes can find my ipod, linux installer rockbox installer, or ipw.
the only thing that did was the loader2 program, the one that was with rockbox and it ran through command prompt
edit: seems like all installers that dont run through cmd prompt cant find my ipod whats the problem ?
also how do i replace the linux kernel ?

But I also have a Zune. It's better than an iPod in some ways, but they're both the same pretty much. It's pretty cool.

anyone have an idea why only batch files can get to my ipod even though itunes and no other programs that use itunes are running ?
i have no idea, but you installed that linux right? well the linux.bin kernel is in the directory of your ipod, so go to my computer, then your ipod, and replace the linux.bin. ALSO!, in order to get linux running from your bootloader, u have to add this line to the .cfg file on your ipod. Add this line:
Linux @ (hd0,1) /linux.bin

Try to get just Linux on it, then i can be able to give u a loader.cfg file so that u can boot all three, Apple, linux, and rockboxi cant really find a .cfg file.

i take of linux.bin and replace it with that other file
but then there are no cfg files to put that line in
and when i replace linux.bin linux does not show up on the loader
edit:: ok i have it loading rockbox in the ipl but not linux... i know what im doing wrong just not how to fix it. without linux.bin it doesnt have the icon in ipl . so i guess i need to put that line of text in but idk where to put it ?
am i just doing it all wrong ?

ok what i did was i put the working kernel and renamed it linux.bin and it worked completey
except it keeps saying something about MPD files not working.
are there any other things that i can get for it ? ipl rockbox and apple are what i has now but what more good things are there?

it says something about the mpd on mine too
but anyways, with linux, u can now have iBoy (gameboy/color emulator), Nes Emulator, and other goodies.
Rockbox supports gameboy color games too, but it is SLOW. lol very hard to play like that.
i don't care for rockbox that much, but i still have it. the only thing i like about it is that u can just drag music files into the file directory, and play them without itunes.
If you want that iboy, tell me. I had lots of troubles with it, so i'll help you with that.
