its 3rd gen nano 1st gen was the metallic black or white, 2nd gen was multi colors 3rd is nano w/ video which is what you have

those are the new ipods.
the 2nd gen, 3rd gen nanos, the 6th gen video (classic), and nano videos are all ENCRYPTED.
That means not modable until someone decrypts them.

i have Linux, Rock Box, Modded Apple Os, Nes Emulator, Gameboy emulators, Doom, and alot more all on my 5.5g Video.

ok i have ipodwizard 5.5 firmware and a 5.5 gen ipod video and something keeps messing up can you give me a tut on getting firmware on ?
it keeps saying something is using ipod but i dont have itunes open
and that it cant access ipod parameters

press shift+alt+delete, END all processes with the word IPOD in it.

Did you enable your ipod for disk mode?
