Our brains are 4 times the size of a monkeys also.

Thats because we were first to develop a higher intelligence. Obviously, intelligence would benefit the survival of the organism, so the trait would be passed down continually until the majority of the population is intelligent.

Also, people this thread is going to be full of flaming, thats what happens when you talk about a controversial topic, especially this, we're dealing with the creation of the universe and how all this came to be, obviously we don't all agree so this large topic is going to get a large amount of flaming.

    Chill yourselves.

So a sperm whale's brain is about 4 times larger than ours, But we are more intelligent. Size means nothing in evolution- We Humans are dominant but we are not the largest, Fastest or most intelligent. While we use what intelligence we have usefully, we are NOT, repeat NOT! the most intelligent. As someone earlier said.

to the comment about DNA, we share DNA with almost everything.
Although one thing I have noticed from this topic is that the non religious people have shown faith in the African roots of humanity, versus the religious people denying this claim. Anyone else smell a hint of colonialism?

Another question for debate: How come monkeys don't change anymore?

We share DNA with everything because we all are related to an early proto-cell.
Monkeys do change, a population evolves not an individual. If you go a 1,000 years into the future, monkeys will not be the same as they are now, you may not be able to notice it, but something in the population will cause them to survive better and the genotype for that will start to spread in the population making them different from the ones today.

I think if there is a "god", he/she would have just started the Big Bang when the Universe was started. Then everything just fell like dominoes. And "God" just watches everything like TV, he/she can't change what is happening, but can just enjoy the show

Evolution is being proved false very often

    orly?

How do you think swine flu came about? do you think god just made it to **** with us?

Seriously, People dont know everything, just because someone found a species thought to be extinct doesnt disprove evolution, it just means humans are incapable of knowing everything. Which means evolution might not be true, but its a much more reasonable explanation then some magical invisible being made everything.

They say swine flu is a mutation of influenza, at the same time a new variant of flu is out every year. Which raises the question, are mutated humans further evolved than us others? Because basically the principle of evolution introduces a trait as mutation and it absorbs into the population of the species.

Thanks, I agree. It's not like I'm telling other people their religion is wrong. Those are the people who should be infracted, not me.

Well, I guess you can't call me a true Atheist though. Because I do understand the Bibile, but I think like Greek mythology it was made to fill in gaps as to explain nature. For Example to in Greek mythology Apollo carries light across the sky. To us we figured out its a star. I beleive that "Hell" is a reference to the interior of the Earth. And Heaven the next Dimension. But thats just wat I beleive so.
