I got it friday, was a hell of a battle, but in the end....................... I never attempted to download it after redeeming the code. Such is the life of a gamer, ill try it when I am ready.

No joke, "Green Man Gaming" is giving away ARMA 2 for free, just use "THESU-NFREE-ARMA2" as a coupon thingy at the checkout!
(It appears they are out of keys atm but are promising to get more and send them via email asap, still worth a shot!)

Well, I guess I know what I'm pirating. I love Bad Company 2. I really do. I even got an amazing deal on steam, $10 for the game, the Vietnam expansion and the spectac kits. Battlefield 3 is starting to look worse and worse though. For one, I have enough programs on my PC, I don't need another (Origin). Now we can only have one soldier. Next thing they're gonna tell us is there won't be any dedicated servers. In which case I might as well boot up ye old 360 and play a bit.

No shit it's not going to happen but at least one dev is trying. I don't see why they don't want mods.
You have to consider the achievement system. Many of the mods for Oblivion are cheat mods, I think its safe to say that the trend will continue. If people are cheating, then achievements would have to be disabled, and then re-enabled if the user got rid of said cheat mod. This would require an advanced system to detect exactly what a mod changes, and how. Either that or manual review of every mod, which is really, really impractical.
