Well there are xbox handhelds but only things fan created or official ones but are still in very early stages of development

Microsoft has gunned down gossip suggesting an Xbox handheld is in the works, crushing gamers' dreams everywhere in the process.

 

UK Xbox boss, Stephen McGill, who denied the juicy rumour certainly had his work cut out having earlier denied a brand new Xbox console was in the offing.

 

The latest crushing blow was delivered in typically, er crushing style. "No, we're not looking to do a handheld gaming device." He said. Can't get any more empathic than that.

 

Honestly I think that Microsoft shouldn't enter the hand held gaming market. It's hard enough competing against Nintendo for hand-helds, but competing against Sony as well is not a good idea.

 

Microsoft only does well in the US too, while Sony and Nintendo have worldwide markets. A portable xbox would not be a good move. What kind of games would they have? They might have a chance if they integrate Xbox Live in I suppose (unless its still not free by then).

I think the DS is dominating the hand-held business (even the fanboys can say that) maybe Microsoft could make a descent hand-held.
