Changing the Halo 2 logo

This tutorial will teach you how to change your Halo 2 logo. Before continuing on with the tutorial make sure you have the following.

 

Check list:

• The Halo 2 main menu map
  
• Ch2r - Download
  
• A graphic editing program that supports the DDS plug in, such as photoshop or gimp.
  
• The DDS plug in - Downloads: Photoshop - Gimp
  

 

 

Note: During the tutorial I will be using photoshop.

 

1. Make a new transparent canvas with the size 512 pixels by 64 pixels. Alternatively you could go to step ......, bet the original Halo 2 logo and then edit that one.

 

2. Next create your logo.

 

3. Now go to 'File -> Save As...'. Change the format to DDS and call it what ever you want.

 

4. You will now see this screen, make sure you save it as DXT3.

 

5. Open up Ch2r and then the Halo 2 main menu.

 

6. Now navigate through 'ui -> screens -> game_shell -> start_screen' and double click the start_screen.bitm.

 

7. Next click inject and select the logo that you have just created.

 

8. Now resign and FTP the map to your xbox, you should now see the following result.
