Slidell Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 In the recent hours of the night, here I'm thinking about my current skill level when something came to mind: Why is it that we are actively using army/marine ranks rather than naval ranks in which Halo was based on. Yes, I know that alot of soldiers that you fight alongside in this game are marines, but when you think about it, if you look at the name, "Master Chief" is a naval rank in the military. Yes, I understand that it is WELL beyond the time to recognize this; that or somebody has already made a post about this, but I wanted to throw this little realization of mine out there. Other than Kurt from: The Ghosts of Onyx who acted as a trainer for the S3 for the marines, no other spartan ever acted as anything outside the navy. So that is it, if anyone can explain to me this little detail, I'm always up for a sensible discussion rather than beligerent flaming about what a noob/newb I am for putting up a topic that is'nt about next year's Recon game.
Decatur Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Well I'm just assuming, but I don't think there is that much of a navy in Halo times. Seeing as it's usually space dog fights and not really on planet activity. So I'm assuming they merged the armed forces together into the UNSC
Slidell Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) There has to be Spartens are all in the navy. Commander Keys Navy, every main charactor sept, Johhny Johnson is in the Navy. O__o Edited October 16, 2008 by GMOF Slidell♥
