Mcmodder♥ Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) These mod has been tested and works in Halo 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and more. There are a few different mods that can be done: 1. Basic momentary switch- The cheapest and least reliable method. This mod connects the LT to the 1st player LED (the top left LED around the XBOX button) using 2 wires and a single momentary switch. This mod is really cheap to do, about $2.00 in parts (assuming you have the correct tools to open up the controller and solder). This mod doesn't work with new batteries due to the voltage (this method requires partially drained batteries or the recharge pack ~2.4V whereas new batteries produce 3V). When the controller flashes to notify you the voltage has changed (aka amount of charge left in your batteries) the rapid fire is affected. Imagine rapid firing becoming burst sporadically while the lights are flashing. Another thing is this method has a delayed response (a huge disadvantage when using rapid fire against someone using a basic automatic weapon). This method will only work in games without software regulated fire rates, which basically means COD4 and NOT Halo. Halo has a cap on how fast you can fire and the only way around that is chipping. Another downfall of this method is that the rapid fire only works when the controller is set to player one. If you tried to take this controller to a friends house (who no doubt would want to be first player, as it is his/her house), then the rapid fire will not work. Another funny thing about this version of the mod is that when you press the rapid fire button when the controller is off, the LED will light up slightly. So yes, this mod will drain your batteries a bit faster. This method places a new button on the right underside of the controller that can be pressed with the middle finger. 2. Chipped Rapid Fire- A bit more soldering, wiring, a chip, and coding creates a much more stable and reliable modification. This produces regulated fire rates which work in tons of games, including HALO and COD4. This mod works regardless of voltage, regardless of which player you are, and has no delay between pressing the button and blasting away enemies. This mod is for the RT only, and is primarily used just for COD4. The chip shuts off with the controller and has no drain on the batteries. This mod also places a new button on the right underside of the controller that can be pressed with the middle finger to turn rapid fire on/off on the trigger. Yes, this mod uses the original trigger with the new button underneath for rapid fire on/off. 3. Chipped DUAL Rapid Fire- Same as above but has both RT and LT rapid fire buttons added. This mod has two buttons on the underside of the controller that can be pressed with the right or left middle finger to turn rapid fire on/off for RT/LT. 4. Sleeper Mod- The sleeper mod is unique in that there are no visible changes to the controller (ie no new buttons on the underside). This mod is the same as version 2 except instead of using an added button, you use the sync button for rapidfire on/off. (press once for rapid fire on/off, press and hold to sync with the xbox). Now that you have some background I'll let you in on what I know from experience. Option 1 (Momentary) is cheap but does work. I have used it before and it's pretty good, but not even close to what can be done. Option 2 is a good choice if you only play COD4. I'd personally recommend the DUAL rapid fire mod (option 3). Why? It's the upgraded version of option 1, as is option 2, but with an additional rapid fire mod on the LT. What about the sleeper? Yes, the sleeper is sleek and is a cool idea, however, it's not that practical. I've used them before and it's frustrating to switch in the heat of battle between rapid and normal fire. The point is, you have the most control with the extra 2 buttons. You can seamlessly switch between normal fire and single fire just by using the button underneath. It takes no time at all to learn to use the underside middle finger buttons (which are positioned where you're fingers end up on the underside of the controller anyways). In conclusion, all of these mods will make a semi-automatic weapon become automatic. I'd personally recommend option 3 (the DUAL rapid fire mod), because it offers the most control and most reliability. Please note: using ANY mod to an xbox 360 or controller on xbox live may be breaking your xbox live agreement (even changing out the fans in the back of the 360!!). I've never heard of anyone being banned for using a modded controller, but tons of negative feedback and complaints from other players can get you suspended or banned (though I've still never heard of this happening because of a modded controller). Unfortunately, many xbox live players have modded controllers, and thus we are forced to get them as well to even the playing field. I am not responsible for how you choose to use this mod Thanks for reading this was taken from http://www.gamesrepair.comhttp://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u136/kingmike_001/test.jpghope this pic can help u Edited October 10, 2008 by Mcmodder♥
