[How-To] Screenshot Mod

Ok, so I know there are already tons of tutorials for this, but the way I do it is the easiest way possible compared to some other methods.

 

What you need:

 

1. (xPlorer360) Download

2. (HxD or any other hex editor) Download

3. (Container Edits V2) Download

4. Paint editing software or just the image you want to put on your xbox (NO PR0N!)

 

Ok now that you've got what we need go head and open up xPlorer360. Navigate to your folder on where your screenshots and usermaps are located. (If you can't do that look here [Shotspartin1117's tutorial])

 

Drag and drop your screen shot onto your desktop.

 

Open up Container Edits V2 and open your CON file and extract to the desktop. (name it whatever you want)

Ok well you now have your image on your desktop. This is where the tutorial branches off. If you want to replace the image with a complete different image stick around and keep reading. If you want to edit the image like draw stuff on it or whatever, then skip ahead till you see part 2.

 

PART 1: - ) Changing the image completely.

 

Ok so now you should have your image you want and the image that was in your CON file.

 

Open the NEW image in MS Paint and just click "save" (DO NOT EDIT - JUST SAVE)

 

Now you can ex out of MS Paint. Go on and open both images in HxD.

 

THIS IS IMPORTANT ... Go to the old image (in the hex editor of course) and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Notice the offset to the side and be sure to take note of that.

Now go on to the new image and add null bytes (00) all the way until you hit that "noted number"

 

Your image may have a lot of "00 00 00's" it may only have a few it all depends on the size of your image.

 

So, now click save. Go back to Container Edits and open the same CON file as before this time click inject. Inject the new image. Rehash/Resign and enjoy. =)

 

PART 2: - ) Editing the current image.

 

First off, you want to open your image in HxD and note the ending offset.

Same picture from above but it shows how to see the ending offset. Just DISREGARD THE TOP MESSAGE ABOUT 2 FILES OPENED!

 

Ok, now open the image in paint and click save. (DO NOT EDIT YET - JUST SAVE)

 

Go edit however you like and save in whatever program. After it's edited go back and resave it as a JPG in MS Paint.

 

Open the edited image in HxD and make sure that the image ends at the same offset as it did in the screenshot above. If it don't (it most likely won't) add null bytes (00) all the way down until you hit the ending offset of the original screenshot. (This makes the file size the exact same).

 

Now just open up Container Edits V2 and Inject the screenshot back in then rehash/resign and enjoy !
