maddflash Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 With the release of the New Xbox 360 experience. A new feature will arise with it. Which is the possiblity of being able to play your game on the hard drive. Now with most things like microsoft make, there bound to mess up somewhere. My prediction is within the first couple of months someone will be able to exploit this feature and be able to mod halo 3 just like halo 2. Security code encryption is most likely not to be a problem on CFW Xbox 360's. Please note that this isnt from a source its just a thought. Your thoughts on this?
Korupt Data Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 this feature will only be for new games i guess so no putting h3 on ur hdd untill someone figures out how
.Slack♠ Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 i thought g4 said this was only for xbox 1 games
Korupt Data Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 i thought g4 said this was only for xbox 1 gamesIm pretty sure its for all the new xbox 360 games idk ill google it
Snowmon333♥ Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 why would they let you put games on your hd ?
Curtis Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Ms is not stupid. They've been working on this update for more than a day.
Dark Slipstream Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Obviously the game coding won't allow someone to just rip a rented game. You will probably have to buy it, so it can be activated or something. Like if you rent a game, they run the game in a tray and lets it work for so many days, then it becomes inactive. Just incase someone stupid wants to try and fill up their HDD with rented games to sell it -.-
ILIKETURTLES♥ Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Ok the update doesnt let you put the whole game on your hard drive, its just part of the game to make it load faster. you still have to have the disk in the tray
Snowmon333♥ Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Ok the update doesnt let you put the whole game on your hard drive, its just part of the game to make it load faster. you still have to have the disk in the tray There ya go, Kinda like the PS3, and I think it would only be for new games if it was true
OmegaLolz Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 I think thw whole game is put on the HDD (Have you seen the GTA vid floating about), but you need the disc to authorize the game being used.So the disc is just some crappy DRM protection
Korupt Data Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 They said the disk will be need to be in the disk tray it just wont spin so im think there would be some way to try it
Snowmon333♥ Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I think thw whole game is put on the HDD (Have you seen the GTA vid floating about), but you need the disc to authorize the game being used.So the disc is just some crappy DRM protection if that was so, wouldn't it be easy to just rent games then burn the discs, so it's on hdd and you have a disc to "authorize" that you have it
iKhaosmaster Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 yea it would be easier to burn them
nickadamz Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 A video showing the new dash and how game installs are managed: also i reckon its pointless games load fine for me at the moment and if they get slow i just clear the hard drive cache and also to do this you will probably need to but a new hard drive and some of us aren't made of money
maddflash Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 Ms is not stupid. ROTFLMFAO!!111111 Are you serious? Why dont you go and tell the red ring of death that M$ isnt stupid lmao.
TurdSnack Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 You Guys do get that the download to harddrive feature is pretty much to make load times quicker AND to make the 360 quieter because the loud noise you hear when playing is the disk being read. Now imagine playing a game from the harddrive, its going to be almost silent.Ive played demos from the harddrive and the 360 is finally as quiet as a PS3
