Demo Kit:

Used at trade shows like E3.

Look exactly like a Retail 360.

The most basic model that will run unsigned code, and access PartnerNet.

Reviewer Kit:

Is a Smoky Gray Color, like a Dev Kit.

Usually has a 60GB Hard Drive

Shipped to reviewers at magazines, and websites.

Test Kit:

White like retail models.

Usually has a sidecar attached, if it doesn't wires will be coming from the top, allowing a sidecar to be attached.

Only the DVD Emulation port is installed though

Has larger Hard Drive, usually about 100-160GB.

Dev Kit:

Is a Smokey Gray color.

Has Kernel Debugging enabled

May, or may not have a Sidecar attached.

Usually has a bigger hard drive (100-160GB).

All of these will access PartnerNet, and you can develop games and apps on everyone, but only by using the 360 SDK (basically, you install Visual Studio, install the SDK, then connect to a router, or directly to the Xbox Kit to dev).

Test Kits, and some Dev Kits have Sidecars with them, these Sidecars have either one or two USB-B ports on the back, if it has one, then you can use the DVD Emulation feature, and play Debug/Work in Progress games directly from a computer's Hard Drive; if the Test/Dev Kit has two Ports one will be the DVD Emulation, the other will be the PIX (Performance Investigator for Xbox) port, which lets you see what the CPU is outputting.

Hope this helps.

Actually if you stole one, Walmart would have to report the loss to Microsoft, and then microsoft would revoke its access to partner net, and sue you, prosecute you, and t33b@g you. Its not worth it lol.

My brother is an employee at a video game store (not Gamestop or EB Games, it's a franchise video game store that I can't really say)

He soon will be a manager maybe I can ask him to get the demo kits. xD

Also, I put on my anti-t3aBag ointment every morning so Microsoft can't teabag me.

Wow, just wow... You are all so stupid. First off, the Xbox 360's in WalMarts and such are not "Demo Kits" they are retail consoles with a kiosk disc. And Microsoft cannot tell if you are not allowed to use PartnerNet, my friend has had a dev kit for about 6 months or more and goes on everyday and he's fine.

Also,

(not Gamestop or EB Games, it's a franchise video game store that I can't really say)

I forgot about those secret franchise stores...[/sarcasm]

PartnetNet is almost exactly like Xbox Live except only development kernel's can access it, it has a market place and everything. And a dev kit doesn't automatically make you able to mod, you still need to make/get a modified XeX that doesn't check the map signatures or a tool to edit the map in memory. Which are hard to come by, so good luck making your own.

nox actualy demo kits are only 400$ and they run anasighned codes so i think your in the clear

No, they do not run unsigned code. I also doubt anyone will you give you what you need to mod Halo 3...

MEGA PHAIL NONE OF THESE RUN UNSIGNED CODE IT IS A STUPID FU

Thank you for repeating what I said, but in a much stupider manner...

they DO NOT run unsigned code. they run code signed with a KNOWN key. and a PSA to anyone wanting to mod with one: Sorry, you wont be able to. Unless you learn PPC ASM and make an XeX, you arent skipping map checks. The creator of the RTH app is not giving it out to random kids who get devs, so that route is no good. So unless you are a collector, i wouldnt recomend a dev kit to be on your "things to purchase" list.

Therese are all forms of dev kits and they all run unasighned xex files so i would just STFU tebager and some1 please lock this topic

right, i only have one and im only friends with the creators of the halo 3 modding tools and know how they were made. 'stfu' isnt a very good arguement. Prove me wrong or take your own advice and 'stfu'.

UM no ur wrong look anywhere and any1 will tel you dev kits run unasigned xex's so stfu
