Crosseyes Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 ̵̉Torrent Port: 59091Computer Static IP on net.: 192.168.1.136Router IP: 192.168.1.1 I've gone to virtual server in the Trendnet Router menu and entered all the setting for ̵̉Torrent under TCP, just like it shows at portforward.com. Yet afterwards, when I run the check it still says the port is closed and ̵̉Torrent is getting minimal seeds. I managed to forward my iPod, Xbox 360, stepdad's blackberry, and WinSCP (on 192.168.1.136) and all that worked fine but not ̵̉Torrent. Can anyone help?
iBotPeaches Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 You can forward the port but that only does a few seeds, disable the NAT feature to allow all connections routed in.
Crosseyes Posted June 15, 2008 Author Report Posted June 15, 2008 Trendnet (Belkin does it to) has a NAT fail-safe which will disable the uplink port when NAT is disabled, allowing for only LAN file transfer.
iBotPeaches Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Then no clue. I have belkin, I did what I just said and it works fine.
Crosseyes Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Yeah forwarding works perfect on Belkin. It's just the NAT on that brand. TrendNet is a little iffy though... I guess I can just settle at 12 hours for a 700MB....Even though a direct connection to the modem can get me 300kbps with good seeds....O well. I'll just leave this in case someone comes along though.
SmokiestGrunl Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 So you want to be able to get more seeds and a faster download speed?
Crosseyes Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Yeah pretty much. The ports for it are not forwarding, so the NAT on my router prevents about 75% of the seeders from connecting and transferring to my computer.
SmokiestGrunl Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Try going "Speed guide -> Enable encryption".
Crosseyes Posted June 21, 2008 Author Report Posted June 21, 2008 Wow, that actually worked. It still says the port's closed, but I'm getting a much stronger connection and can actually reach a lot of seeds. There's really not enough seeds on mine to say for sure, but I think this is pretty much solved.
SmokiestGrunl Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 Cool I'm glad that helped closed PM me if you need further help. Closed for now.
