Um.. have you found that file? Made sure its there, not read only maybe? or encrypted? It sounds like it might be a authentication type thing. Did this just start happening recently? Have you changed your windows install to something else? And finally, does wordpad work?

It happens with all notepads. Started happening recently. No. Notpad works if I don't try and hope a file.

run an anti virus scan.

if its not a virus. is it affecting other programs?

if so is it the same error code on other programs?

 

Its not happening with other programs and I don't see a virus setting out to kill my notepad (correct me if I'm wrong).

AHHHHH I WILL DESTROY UR NOTEPAD AHHHH. Probable not going to happen Have u checked the windows NT folder and made sure everythings there? If nothing I'v suggested helped, g00gle the problem and see what comes up if u haven't already done it. I'm out of ideas

i guess you could try replacing notepad.exe from the internet, do it in safemode.

 

also, run Task Manger Advanced after u replace it. leave the error open, run it. and look for the process running the error, it could be a virus, or bad service, delete service, and remove from quarantine. and reinstall/add the service back to %systemroot%

that usually happen when the admin denies access to certain thing and since it your computer that means the setting probably changed so try logging in as admin see if you can change it from there unless it was a virus/million of of there things that screw with your computer then it might have also change the pass to the admin account

I am the only user on this computer and its admin.
