mangriff32 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Umm can someone please explain what Error 74 is? Also, my 4th ring is blinking red.
iBotPeaches Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Your video chip fried off the mobo. The solder connection failed. Simply too much play, too much heat. To prevent put a fan next to your 360. No fix unless you resolder, and place plastic blockers to seal it.
Snowmon333♥ Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 would the oven technique work in this case ? ( I would never put my 360 in a oven)
mangriff32 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Well, me not wanting to risk anything, im just gunna ship it in.
iBotPeaches Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Good Choice. Wait till your warranty is gone, till you start fixing it yourself.
Snowmon333♥ Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 my xbox 360 makes me nervous, paid 400 for it and invested another couple hundred on games and controllers, and what if it just got red rings and crap that would suck
mangriff32 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 I attempted the towl trick since it wouldnt void my warranty. And let me say this, It doesnt work lol. At all.
Snowmon333♥ Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 do you just turn it on inside of them ?
iBotPeaches Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 The whole oven, towel trick. Is to remelt the solder by re raising the temperature inside your PCU above 135 F. Thats when solder connections start to melt and reform. Very dangerous, but if needed the only fix.
