Cern may have found the Higgs Boson.

If you don't know what the Higgs Boson particle is, basically, some physicist came up with an equation a long time ago that covers everything in the standard model, the only way to make it work was use, an imaginary mass inducing particle that scientist made up a long time ago. They've spent 30 years, and millions of dollars looking for it, and now they've finally found it, or at least, they probably did.

 

tldr; It gives everything mass, learning to **** with it could bring us groundbreaking technology. The possibility for artificial gravity, and even faster than light travel. Or you know, we might accidently crush earth into a black hole, one of the two.
