iBotPeaches Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 360 owners are going to want to clear some space on their hard-drive ahead of next week's Battlefield 3 launch. As previously reported, the 360 version of Battlefield 3 will ship with an additional DVD containing a texture pack for optional installation to the 360's hard-drive. These high-definition textures will be streamed from the hard-drive during the game to enhance DICE's visual representation of its own take on modern warfare. The original story raised a number of questions concerning a possible disparity between the different versions of Battlefield 3 and so at this week's EA showcase in London, Gamerzines asked executive producer, Patrick Bach, to clarify the purpose of the optional texture pack. "There's nothing magic about it," explained Bach. "It's the same thing we do for PC and PS3, so there's nothing extra.""I think the controversy about this is that we actually let you do it on 360 for once. So what it does is it gives you the same abilities, kind of, as the PC and PS3. You can actually stream information from the hard drive. Whats this? I don't have extra GBs laying around my harddrive. I only have the stupid internal 4gb. If they pack a 500mb texture file onto my hdd. I'm gonna be pissed. View full story
xDSLx Killer Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Couldn't you buy an 8GB usb drive? or maybe even 4? Same for me. I have black ops installed on my hard-drive because it can't play by itself. I installed my friend's black ops, my disc is just used for recognition if I delete that I lose the abilty to play black ops. If it was infinity ward's call of duty I just deleted it, but I am in love with zombies and I can say that I want to play zombies this or next year. I might have a solution for this, I work part-time in a library and next Saturday I'm working in one library where they have black-ops available for renting. I'm going to take the alarm off and switch disc's at home. If this doesn't work I might consider getting a new hard-drive or maybe even a 8GB USB drive.
iBotPeaches Posted October 20, 2011 Author Report Posted October 20, 2011 I honestly forgot about the USB things. I guess I'll go buy a new powerful 8gb USB. All the USBs I put in now, say "Don't meet recommendations".
xDSLx Killer Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Someone got a BF3 for Xbox earlier than it should have and apparently the HD update is 1.5 GB So I think I have enough space on my HDDRead the story @ www.enterBF3.com
