Not sure where to ask for help on this so sorry if posting at the wrong place.

I am on win7 64 and the game installed but when I play the game it is always blinking. Not sure how to explain it really but it seems to be some kind of glitch. Also is there a config file I can edit to change the resolution? I thought it was "dune2000.cfg" but isnt. Any help would be great. Thanks

According to the manual, "If the video display flickers during the game every 20 seconds or so then this can be prevented by adding "-f" to the command line for Dune 2000. Please refer to 2.1.1 for details on how to do this"

2.1.1 reads" "2.1.1. Error Message "Set Cooperative Level Returned - 2005532097"

This message will appear on older video cards that do not support hardware page flipping. To solve the problem create a shortcut and add the option "-f" to the command line. A shortcut is created by right clicking on the Dune2000 program icon and selecting "Create Shortcut". Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties". Click on the end of the "target" line and add the new command line option."

Thanks for the reply! The -f did help. Its not flickering fast like it was before but it does still flicker in spots across the screen horizontally. Its playable though just kinda annoying but I can deal with it unless you have any other ideas. What is more annoying is the how fast the screen moves.I move my mouse down just a little and it go down very fast.I already put the scroll speed down to the lowest and still way too fast.

maybe tinker with the game settings in the control panel of your graphics card.

Thanks I will do that. Its a GeForce GTX 550 Ti.Not that old. Is there a .ini file or some kind of config file for Dune 2000? On my XP virtual machine the game runs fine but I needed to change the resolution to 1920 x 1080. I really need help with the super fast scrolling when I move around also.

not really, just the options menu in game.

That only changes from 8 to 16 bit. How does the mod know the resolution? I would think there is some kind of data config file that could be edited. If not that is very strange. Still scrolling jet speed when I move the mouse on my win7 machine is a real problem too. I might be screwed on playing this game now:(

I have the same problem. After adding the -f option, the blinking was reduced, but the scroll rate gets insane. Too fast to play, even with the scroll rate in game option in minimum.

Help please.

Hello, I am wondering if the gruntmods edition of dune has a high resolution patch already? and if it is similiar to this one: http://d2kplus.com/hires.php

And if no res patch, would it be difficult to use it with this version?

Also on d2kplus they have more level packs. is it easy to use those aswell?

Not at this time, the only way I could include it is to have it preset to a certain resolution that everyone can run, like 1024x768.

A quick status update, we now have a launcher programmed that will post news updates related to the game as well as allow you to update to the newest version with the click of a button. There have also been numerous changes made to the base game, namely:

-Added the first mission of the expansion "Rise of the Mercenaries", a thrilling campaign consisting of 3 missions told through the eyes of a mercenary commander.
-Adds new menus to support additional missions, including custom mission briefings and an option to load the campaign from the house select screen.
-Does not replace any existing files, making it 100% compatible with the original game
-String file entries are unique and also do not replace any existing game data
-Added button to select a difficulty when using the Mission Select, this will allow you to play a loaded mission on the difficulty of your choosing (default was Normal)
-Added instruction manual written by Gruntmods Studios, completely written from scratch for this version of the game
-Added preview of the new Custom Campagin Creation Tutorial that will be provided with the finished version of the Rise of the Mercenaries expansion.
-Removed "Menu Editor" and "User Interface Table Editor" folders in D2K+, and added "Table Editor (UIB) folder" since the one tool now works on all UIB files.
-Fixed version number displayed in menu to be accurate

As always, you should update to the latest version for optimal gameplay experience, you can get the latest patche notes and downloads here: http://www.gruntmods.com/Projects/Downloads/Dune_2000/Dune%20Blog/patchnotes.html
