Hey guys, Ive looked all over and gotten very random answers to this question. I thought Id throw it here and see what you guys think.

Whenever I play a game like Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, etc, the game will randomly crash to the desktop. No error message, nothin...

And it's completely random too. After 10 seconds of the game just loading the menu, or in the middle an intense fight after 3 hours of play. Ive tried adjusting the game settings to the lowest possible to see if that would help, but it still doesn't...

Ive tried watching Task Manager to see if it peaks on RAM or CPU and it doesn't. I have tried watching temperature yet tho...

Other sites tell me to check my drivers and I updated them yesterday to see if that would help and it didn't change anything...

Any Help here would be awesome :)

MAYBE ITS A VIRUS D: thats my only thought

Maybe you got infected with a RAT and they're closing out of your game for teh lulz :)

nah. I bet Quinn or Matty0 would probably have some advice on this though... They're always helpful

Are you using steam? Then try re-installing it, see if it helps.

Otherwise, check your power supply.

these are the none steam version. I don't have steam. Im running a 750w Antec psu how could I check to see if its working well?

1. Run Prime95 on your system (CPU stability test)

2. Run Memtest86 on your system (RAM stability test)

3. Run Furmark (or other GPU stress test)

if Prime95 makes your system crash, or get a BSOD, then your CPU is unstable. Check the voltages and everything in your motherboard. Make sure there is no "auto-overclock" "feature"

Even if Prime95 fails, run Memtest86. It will take quite a few hours to complete so set aside a day for it.

Then Furmark. I doubt this is the issue, but just in case, run it.

Good luck :)

quite a while. Sometimes 8-10 hours. Just let it work

so its been 12 hours now and its still running.... I gotta stop it cuz I need to sleep and my pc glows pretty bright.

Wish it had a progress bar or something to see how far it is, but dang it sure is testing it.

Thoughts?

So its pirated then ;)

well duh :p
