REDSTAR 105 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 Hey guys, I posted a topic about 2 months ago now saying that I was going to build my own PC, listed out my parts, but I decided that I didn't like the idea of ordering the parts separately (just incase I got something wrong)... so I got this http://www.compusa.c...2617&CatId=5294 nbd eh? After I bought this, I got some regular LG disc drive ($20, and a Galaxy Ge-Force 210 1GB DDR2 Video Card ($30) So yeah, here are some pics... The whole bunch http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/5600/imag0061b.jpg The case http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/6660/imag0060s.jpg Some of the boxes http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/2442/imag0062nw.jpg http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/2649/imag0063x.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/769/imag0064y.jpg Back of case http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3862/imag0065n.jpg Inside view (Messy wiring) http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/3720/imag0066z.jpg Closer inside view (Fans, mobo, Video Card) http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/9830/imag0067k.jpg I am really wanting to get more fans (maybe some multi-colored ones, that would be awesome) but atm I have a stock heatsink/fan and a silent fan mounted on the back.
matty0 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 a GT210 is pretty much the modern equivelent of the old 9400GT (and then it's predecessor essentially the 8500GT). its a very stable card (mac/win/linux) so i get it personaly i went 1 model above (GT220 1GB) purely because it only cost me £14 including postage haha. some people forget that not everybody can afford the latest in hardware. just enjoy it mate
Quinn Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 O_o get those wires away from the CPU...Also, why a 6 core? If you wanted lots of power, why not wait 2 days and get an 8 core?

REDSTAR 105 Posted June 18, 2011 Author Report Posted June 18, 2011 I bought the Galaxy 210 because it was affordable and had 1GB of DDR2 memory. And yes Quinn, I will get those cords away lol.

Randomrocket Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 That has to be the biggest problem with that sentence.Hey man its whatever you can afford. He just wanted a PC not a screaming supercomputer. Great job on the build. I would have gone with a different case for cooling but its a great deal.

Yeah, the only things I don't like so far is the cooling on the case and the stock heatsink that came with the processor, the thing is loud as hell sometimes! And @gruntmods, I'll try to take care of the video card.

Quinn Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 lol its a hexacore! Its gonna be louder than a dual-core or quad-core ...Its the same cooler that comes with all new AMD Phenom IIs On an unrelated note:Finally a case that supports two power supplies, isn't shitty and isn't $999999999999. I want http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811815011
Randomrocket Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 ...Its the same cooler that comes with all new AMD Phenom IIs Yeah so its gotta work harder to cool a bigger processor. If you get enough money, get another heatsink. Itll probably be a good investment for that hexacore

gruntmods Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 I have been looking at heatsinks, I may get one, what brand though? Cooler Master?Pick one you like, and make sure it has good reviews.
Quinn Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 I've got a Thermaltake Frio, but for average usage it's complete overkill.
