Quinn Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 I was bored, so I searched around to find the most powerful laptop out there right now. Of course, it has to be custom built.Enter the Sager NP7282-S1:Even stock, this thing is a beast, however, it can be customized to compete with many high end desktop systems.Anyways, here are the specs (after customization):Screen: 17.3' 1080p LEDCPU: Intel® Core™ i7-990X Processor Extreme Edition ( 12MB L3 Cache, 3.46GHz, 6.4GT/sec QPI, 6 Cores )Graphics: Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M GPUs (2x2GB memory)Memory: 12GB Triple Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHzStorage: 3 600GB Intel 320 Series SATA2 Solid State Disk DriveOptical: 6X BD-R Blu-ray Burner/8X DVD±R/2.4X +DL Super-Multi Drive(also has an upgraded wireless card, TV tuner etc) -- Total cost... ...wait for it.... $8,912.00 USDAhh, if only I was rich.Although, it would probably have about 10 minutes of battery life.
Randomrocket Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Although, it would probably have about 10 minutes of battery life.and weigh 80 pounds....
Quinn Posted June 14, 2011 Author Report Posted June 14, 2011 and weigh 80 pounds.... so worth it though... Also, there is another version of this same laptop, but customized by Xotic PC (xoticpc.com) that goes for $9593.00 fully decked out (it has a few more goodies than stock, like a better screen)

I wouldn't think so, Sager isn't exactly new, if they think they can put that hardware in a laptop, they've probably done lots and lots of testing to ensure they don't pull a Microsoft.
