d xbox doesnt recognise the slayer disc and cannot boot to installed games and media files.what can i do?

Rerun the softmod exploit.

 

Boot the modified game (EX Splitercell), and assuming you didn't remove the modified save file you can re-softmod into unleashX, then reinstall a modded dash from there.

This is assuming the modified linux file loads. If it is is Crazy's NDURE installer, the steps will be different, but very similar.

 

Step 2: Click 1st Backup EEPROM

-- Click Yes or OK for the next 2 windows then a new screen will come up and click BACKUP EEPROM

Step 3: I suggest going to SETTINGS at the bottom, get your IP and FTP to your Xbox. Once you are in your Xbox, navigate to your EEPROM backup and transfer it to your computer.

Step 4: OPTIONAL: If you don't have FTP access, then click COPY EEPROM TO MU. This will back up your EEPROM to your memory card (MU = MEMORY UNIT).

Step 5: Click Basic Installation

Step 6: PERSONAL PREFERENCE: I suggest using UNLEASHX (UX) for this step since its more user friendly for beginners. Once you become more advanced, I suggest moving over to EvolutionX (EvoX) since you can customize it more.

 

Step 7: After choosing one of the dashboards stated above, you will get a message asking to PROCEED. Please, if you didn't verify your current MS Dashboard BEFORE you started this softmod process, please restart your Xbox and check to see what your dashboard is. If you know for sure its MS 5960, the proceed.

Step 8: It's going to go through screens, read them to know what is going on and keep proceeding. All that's going on is the installer is checking to make sure it can move it without running into errors. Once everything is present, it will begin softmodding your Xbox.

Step 9: Once it is done modifying your Xbox, you will get a message saying to turn off your Xbox or press OK. Press OK. Once it is shut off, press the EJECT button to get your game out.

Step 10: You will get a screen that says PRESS A. Press it. Read the message that comes up and click ok.

Step 11: Once it is done making the Shadow C, you will be a completion message. Read each message that comes up after you click OK.

the xbox doesnt have d eeprom page again,it boots like d normal xbox dat was first produced then.it has the 'all green' microsoft dashboard where one can view game progess saves,play/copy music to d harddrive,connect to xbox live,settings.dats all on d dashboard

Okay, then put in the game that you originally softmodded with.

 

Does that game load?

 

So place game in disc drive, turn off xbox. Boot xbox with quick press of power, then try just loading the game in while its at the dashboard and see if that loads.

i did nt softmod it myself buh i tink it is mechassault dat d guy used to do it.i chkd d game progress saves list now and found 'run linux' in mechassault's saves...i will look 4 a way 2 get mech assault disk tommorow.i wil let u know as soon as i get d disk.thanks a million!
