Slidell Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/sony/playstation-3/PS3.jpg The PlayStation Network has already given Sony plenty of grief, but apparently that's only the beginning. There are reports from the U.K. that some retailers are reporting an increase in PS3 trade-ins as gamers express their frustration over the PSN problems. Edge magazine ran its own informal study that showed that PS3 trade-ins at retailers was up, and this domino effect has also shown up in the sales comparison of games like FIFA 11, where the week-upon-week split of copies sold for the Xbox 360 versus the PS3 is increasing as the PSN outage continues. Whether there is a direct correlation between the data is unknown. Interestingly, Edge reports anecdotes from retailers that says that it's not simply frustration with Sony that's behind the returns, but that these gamers are specifically eager to get back to their online matches of Call of Duty: Black Ops or Modern Warfare 2.
