Why does everyone buy IPods?

I don't see the point of buying and IPod. The 120gb video is really expensive, where for the same price pretty much you can get an Archos 606 touchscreen 300 or so gb music, pictures, video everything the ipod does player, only its better. Its also got a way bigger screen. Or if you just want music and pics try a Samsung YP-Z5 because they are fairly cheap (I saw a used one on kijiji for $20) and they do everything a 1st or 2ond gen. nano does. I don't know if you buy IPods so you can hack them, but I would go with the better value. But maybe thats just me....

i didn't know about the Archos but it does seem pretty cool. but the ipod touch looks better, i watched a video comparing them and it does look cooler.

 

but i think i would rather get Archos

I like the iPods. They are more profesional in my opinion.

 

iPods have really nice features and even more if you hack the old ones.

i bought my ipod bc it is small and compact for when i go jogging.

 

i don't want a big a$$ screen.

 

i have 40 gig's of space for all my music needs, but its small

 

and i don't like archos.

the last one i got... sucked. it would lock up on me all the time. and music transfer also took long amounts of time

reminder i had my archos about 4-5 years ago, so they could have gotten better.

 

i just like it bc its small and compact, but still lots of space for all my music.

i need a touch screen and i don't need small and compact, and archos is less money for the amount of space you get.

 

so if i'm sitting on an airplane i would be watching a movie i would not care about if it was compact, i would want space (80g or 160g) and very long battery

If you just want music go to a cheapy store and get an mp3 thats like 1 gig for $20-$40.Archoses are good if you are on a large trip somewhere, they are like having a portable DVD player cause the speaker is really loud on the new ones. Personally I would get a cheapy mp3 and an archos and just use them when I want them. Plus, the archos is easy to fix if you need a new battery. They have them on ebay for $20 including shipping, or you could send it to archos and they will fix it, because you get a huge warrenty with them. Ipods I don't like partly because EVERYONE has them.

My bro has 5 IPods, one Mini, one first gen nano, one second gen nano, two really old ones with 20 gigs and B&W screens. The only thing I really see IPods as being slightly above regular MP3s and stuff is because their loud. I have my Samsung YP-Z5 2 gig and I can guarantee you it will outlast his second gen nano.

Because the ipods come in all sizes and varieties. They can please everybody.

but i didn't know about any mp3 players when i got my ipod video, other companies should advertise better

I agree about the advertising, you never see any for archos or any smaller brands.

Meh this was already bumped... But i don't even have an ipod and the only iphones i got were scamming apple out of iphone4s when they were still new. Kinda wish i kept 1 and not sold them all...
