yeah so when you find your comp, try to find what kind of processor it has inside it already. and if its an intel single core, then it will only work with an intel single core. It cannot be upgraded to a dual core or to an AMD unless you upgrade the mobo.

Diffferent processor sizes have different socket sizes so if you try changing the wheels on a scion to 24 inch wheels, it wont work.

so this is your first processor: Intel Celeron 450

and computer

Quinn, this guy bought an i3 processor and doesnt know why it doesnt work. I think its cuz his original processor is a single core and now he's trying a dual core. Thoughts?

The Intel Celeron is an socket LGA 775 processor. The Core i3 is an socket LGA 1156 processor. The fact that they are single core and dual core does not matter. Should I want to, I could open up my desk drawer right now, pull out an socket AM3 dual core, and throw it in my PC.

Anyways, if you want the i3, you will need a different motherboard, and depending on which motherboard you purchase, you may need to buy a dedicated graphics card.
