I have a box. 1 Meter, by 1 meter, by 1 meter. The box must be filled with as many possible ball bearings as possible and still close. The ball bearings are 2.5mm in diameter.

 

Question1. How many ball bearings will fit in this box.

Question2. What is the total surface area of all the bearings in the box.

1) (1000 * 1000 * 1000) / (Pi * ((2.5 / 2)^2)) = 203 718 327 (judging there are no gaps in-between the ball bearings.

2) (Pi * (2.5 / 2)^2) * 203718327 = 999 999 999
