Unless you live under a rock or don’t enjoy funny things, you have probably seen the hilarious video called iPhone 4 versus HTC EVO that depicts a potential iPhone 4 customer dealing with a salesman trying to showcase the features the EVO has over the new iPhone.

If you haven’t seen it, feel free to watch below, it’s OK, I won’t tell anyone you aren’t up on the times. I warn you though, it has some strong language, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless.

Best Buy however, did not find it enjoyable, and they are now trying to fire the employee who made the video, 25 year old Brian Maupin from Kansas City, Missouri. He apparently has been selling phones for the company for three and a half years but is now suspended indefinitely because of the video and the attention it’s gotten.

In his words:

They felt it disparaged a brand they carried (iPhone/Apple) as well as the store itself and were fearful of stockholders & customers being turned off to Best Buy Mobile.

Laughable.

As Tech Crunch points out, Best Buy isn’t even mentioned in the entire video so it’s surprising that they have taken these steps after finding out who made it.

Can you say, witch hunt?

Maupin was actually asked to quit but refused and now he is likely to lose his job all because he put up a hilarious video on YouTube.

Thoughts, San Francisco?
