Slidell Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) The "Red Ring Of Death", the symbol of a catastrophic system failure that has become an icon of the 360's lifetime, will soon be no more, as the new model of the console won't display a ring of red lights. Deciding to take the opportunity for a clean break, Microsoft has not included any red lights in the console's "ring of light", only green ones, so if something goes wrong this time around, you'll get a red dot of death (see below). http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/06/500x_reddot.jpg Microsofts face. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/liloqtpi/Funny/TrollFace-1.png Edited June 18, 2010 by Slidell
Kurrupted Ninja Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 wait. why a dot. well i got two of them so no worry and my xbox 360 is 4 years old
Azraelrs Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 I think you are missing it. They will still break (probably more actually) but you won't get "RRoD" because they didn't put red LED's in the ring. It's the best they can do to try to remove themselves from the RRoD plight. It's still going to happen, but it won't be the dreaded RRoD. It will be the dreaded "Red Blinking power button light of death or RBPBLoD"
Dark Slipstream Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 No, it's now called the RLoD. Red Light of Death. Nothing new here. They just changed one of the words.

halo3 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I wonder how the secondary error codes will work, probably still the reconnect button and the dvd drive button but how will we tell the seccondary error code by the rate of the blinking? will it show green rings instead of read? Also think they will still mean the same things? like e74= gpu and/or hana chip problem

Grape soda Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 lol. What if the error is showing the screen?? then what?? That sounds like a really retarded way to get rid of the RROD reputation. Why dont they just make the xboxs more durable?? Tada. Its fixed.

Also think they will still mean the same things? like e74= gpu and/or hana chip problem I'm curious as to this one also. As the only on screen message it will show is "overheating". I guess the only way we are gonna find out is when we finally get our hands on a broken one.

miinaturvat Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 yeah but what if its a gpu/cpu problem where it can't show on the screen Then it's pretty damn obvious what the error is I'm curious as to this one also. As the only on screen message it will show is "overheating". I guess the only way we are gonna find out is when we finally get our hands on a broken one. That won't take long...
