jmdalmighty Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 So by the 2nd all my exams will be over and I won't to start work on my jtag but I want all the parts dilivred first I've baught everything for jtaging it(NAND-x) and the one thing I can't figure out is what type of pin headers fit on the mobo correctly so if anyone knows anything about pin headers it would be a great help
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I searched nand-x on Xecuter's site. (see here: http://team-xecuter.com/?s=nand-x&x=0&y=0 ) and I could find no information about what type of pin header they use. I think its included though, so why do you have to purchase one?
jmdalmighty Posted May 29, 2010 Author Report Posted May 29, 2010 No I've got my NAND x you don't need pin header for it but I Want to buy some as I will be doing other mods on the 360 and will need power sources
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 O for the nanddump pins? Looks like its a 14 pin header with pin 13 removed.
jmdalmighty Posted May 29, 2010 Author Report Posted May 29, 2010 **** it has nothing to do with NAND or jtag I'm just wondering what type of there is a certern type of pin headers that work will with xbox I was wondering if a buy a 41 long header with single pins would that be ok and do you just cut it at the point you want it at ie let's say there is a 3 pin Hedder space on the mobo do you just cut it. And how do you attach it push them in and heat it up so the solder melts?

Sure you could buy a very long pin head and just snip them at required lengths (3x2, 7x2), but then you just have a bunch of pin headers. Those just make soldering direct wires easier, it won't exactly help gather power for other mods. I don't know about your mobo, but mine had all the solder points filled in, so a direct wire would be easier in my situation. http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/64_37/products_id/116 those would be the pin headers for normal xbox, I don't think they've changed from normal to 360. If it fits it works, its nothing special. Just a plastic casing for some medal wires.
jmdalmighty Posted May 29, 2010 Author Report Posted May 29, 2010 i am refering to the xbox 360 and was wanting to add pin headers so it save me time soldering to the mobo. ie like the 12v fan mod insted of soldering to the bord i can make quick connect pints on the mobo to allow to add and remove fans leds and such.
iBotPeaches Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 The 12v fan mods require just one soldering point on those little hub black things. http://i47.tinypic.com/2w2j86o.jpg I don't know what there called. I also too don't see how a pin header will help. Maybe on an xbox v1 where you had hundreds of chips that could plug into the LPC ports, but on the 360 only a few parts take advantage of the pin headers, and those that do include one.
