Before I get started, let me post my computer's specs, so you can see how well this game will run on your PC.

4 Gigabytes of DDR3 1300 Ram

ATi Radeon 5770 (No OC for this review, its too hot out)

There have been plenty of people complaining of bugs in Metro 2033, I personally have had problems running the game, but thats because I was using various releases (an FYI - the Skidrow release never worked for me, the Razor1911 did) I had two in game bugs, one where I was tackled and clipped through a wall, and another where I was hit out of the map by a librarian.

Performance

High - 40-60 fps

Mid - 20-40 fps

Bad - 0-20 fps

Metro 2033 is a highly demanding game; don't expect to play this on an older card. With the quality set to Very High and Direct X 9, the average performance was Mid-High level. With the quality set to Very High and Direct X 11 (All DX 11 options selected), the game was playable, but just barley; some areas were very bad, with under 10 fps. With the quality set to High and Direct X 11 (All DX 11 options selected), the game played at Mid performance.

Visuals

Stellar, for the most part, although there are some areas that could have benefited from higher quality textures. I cannot speak about the PhysX side of things, as I do not own a Nvidia card and have no intention of buying one, unless they come out with a DX 11 card that won't overheat my rig.

8.5/10

Gameplay

Good, while it lasts. The game did not take long to complete, and I do not see much replay value to it. Gas Masks can and will break/run out of filters at the most inopportune times. As in running along the surface while being shot at by Nazis. Also; don't get attached to any characters, they'll probably all die anyways. The puzzles in game are trial and error, there is little skill involved, and others are more hide and seek. There are two endings, the harder of the two is the good ending, where you have to be a good guy the whole game.

6.5/10

Sound

The gunshots and other ambient etc sounds great, but the English voice overs, sound like shit.

5/10

Overall

7/10

Definatly worth renting, but owning, maybe not. Unless you like it so much that you want to play it over..... and over.... and over again

*We only want peace*
