iBotPeaches Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 When I render all my 8 cores go to 100%. Its quite amazing the difference in your CPU strength and how fast you can render videos.

That vid was about 5 mins long, and I was either rendering it in 720p or 1080p. Can't remember, probably 1080p. Just curious, how long does it take you to do that on an i7? I'm waiting on a second gen Phenom II x6 to come out, then I might nab one. I also hear later on, AMD will be releasing 8 core and up CPUs. It'll be interesting if they can pull it off for more than a server CPU. It'll probably have a ridiculous TDP.

lostmodz26 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 My intel atom can render a 8 second clip in 3 hours and 37 minutes. BEAT THAT.

I rendered a 1 minute clip in 1080p on my Laptop (a 1.6ghz Athlon) in 56 minutes? And that laptop cost exactly $100 more than your netbook. Price vs. Performance
Dark Slipstream Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) My 3.4GHz AMD Quad-Core can render 1 hour of 1080p footage in under an hour (depends on what I'm doing). Edited April 28, 2010 by Dark Slipstream
