iBotPeaches Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Eeprom reader probably won't help you. Since its the same process except connecting to the EEprom instead of computer. I apologize this topic just fell below the others. There is a "Bump" function somewhere, feel free to try that. I won't care. Disconnect the IDE part of the DVD and only run the IDE from motherboard of xbox, to HD of xbox, with power of xbox connected to xbox. Turn xbox on, wait till error codes come up then remove IDE from xbox HD, plug your computer IDE into it, and turn on your computer. It should pass all checks, since its unlocked and you may continue using X-Browser
Quinn Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 I will try this tonight, will you be on around nine or so? Because I will be done by then.
iBotPeaches Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 I don't know what nine is for you. I'm in Central Time at 9. I might be out with friends since I only get these Friday, Saturday, Sunday days to myself. I'll try and get on, or maybe later.
Quinn Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 I think I made my drive into a true paperweight. I got the method working, then after going into something I didn't want to, I rebooted my computer, then the method didn't work anymore. Then a while later I was working with it and the drive stoped spinning up/ starting up. Is the drive totally done. Or can we fix it?
iBotPeaches Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 If its not making any noise. Your toast. To test though. Plug the xbox back together, and turn it on, hope to get an error code, because if you don't then it crashed and will give you error code 5 in 1 min after turning it on.
Quinn Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 I think I will try getting another xbox (I'm buying one for $20), unlocking the drive with a softmod, putting it in my busted xbox to set the internal clock, put the M$ dash on another hard drive, loading up slayes evox cd and locking the drive with that.
iBotPeaches Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Whoa whoa whoa. You can't just replace harddrive unless you have EEPROM, just resoftmod the new xbox, instead of breaking 2 xboxes
Quinn Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Sorry I may not have made it really clear what I was going to do. I will take the new xbox, softmod it, unlock the hdd through the softmod, make sure it has the M$ dash on it, place it in the busted xbox so that the dash can set the internal clock and get the unlocked hdd error, then get another random hdd, put the M$ dash on it, and from what I understand, slayers evox cd can boot up in a xbox, so have the cd boot up, then lock the random hdd and possibly have a working xbox.
Quinn Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 I made a xbox hdd in HDM1.9 properly, since it was a 15 gig made an f partition and put it in my xbox resulting in error five (unlocked hd). This should have set the internal clock. Then I plugged my xbox hd in and got error 7. I looked it up and I tryed all the options and no luck. You say if nothing works, sell the xbox to you. I'm not quite at that stage yet. I am going to buy a eeprom reader and with some very smart programs I should be able to get my eeprom.bin file.
iBotPeaches Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Do you have any backup files? So you can get eeprom. Buying an Eeprom reader is very difficult to use.
Quinn Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 I found a eeprom reader on ebay and it comes with software and instructions. You just plug it in the motherboard and in your computer I think.
Quinn Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... K:MEWA:VRI this is the eeprom reader.
iBotPeaches Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 That one is nicely built and even has connector cable. Go for it. Looks very nice and easy.
Quinn Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 Ok, I will buy it soon and tell you if it works.
Quinn Posted May 12, 2008 Author Report Posted May 12, 2008 Srry for taking a long time about this, I just kinda forgot after the eeprom reader F$#@ed up my xbox even more. The guy wired it wrong and it fried my xbox totally and completly. He says in the ad that he will refund it if it does not work, but he won't even reply to the emails I send him. DON'T BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
