Quinn Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Ok, I'm to the point with my xbox (original) that I'm going to buy a new one. But I have one last idea, unlocking the drive with the master passwords like Teamassembly or Xboxscene and Xboxlinux dosn't work. But I have a program that will unlock the drive but will erase everything. So, I was wondering, If I unlocked the drive would I be able to lock it again with one of the master passwords? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Xx Legacy xX Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 It depends what you have on itif you have alot of crap on and all that try to find away to unlock it but if it had nothing on it go ahead but i am not sure if you remove everying if you can get your dash back and all that, you probaly can but not sure i will try to find a tutorial on how to unlock your harddrive though -Legacy ps. remember to tag your topic to "support"
Quinn Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 I have the MS Dash on my computer and ready to be put on a drive, But I think that I will try on an unlocked drive first to see if it works. Updates later.
iBotPeaches Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 You need to know the eeprom password to relock it. Boot up your eeprom in HDM, and go to info, it will be there. Copy that down, use your program to erase and unlock it, then you have to relock it, with that exact password, otherwise your motherboard, cannot communicate with it. The teamassembly junk passwords, were for the linux program lol. Not your HD.
Quinn Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 Ok, I need help on where to get this Xbox HDM app and how to use it. My xbox hdd is lock so it doesn't matter wether its setup as and internal or external, it dosn't show up in my computer but it shows up in device maneger. I am faily sure the epprom dump file is still on there but who knows... anyway any time before monday I have to know cause after the weekend I won't have time for anything
iBotPeaches Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 You cant access it while its locked. You need the code. What if any eeprom do you have?
Quinn Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 kk sorry I do already have xboxhdm 1.9 and know how to use it but nothing works to unlock the disk. maybe someone could give me a directory that I could type in to get to the eeprom? any sort of help on this cause I don't have the money to get another xbox.
iBotPeaches Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 You need a evox built in feature, to get the eeprom into a file. It isn't in any directory. Brings me back to the good ole days with evilomen when he laughed at my saying, "Wheres my Eeprom located at" Its a chip, if you don't have it. You need to get your eeprom, by either getting it from a backup.txt file on your xbox, buying an eeprom chip reader. Booting up HDM1.9, and click Drive info, and hope it can load your eeprom in that folder.
Quinn Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 1. Where can I get a eeprom reader 2. I meant the dump file directory like C:/blablabla thanks for the help
iBotPeaches Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Dump Directory is C:/Backup Simple as that. Its located as eeprom.txt I believe. It might be encrypted, might now. I installed my 240gb, harddrive 1 year ago, I haven't messed with it, in awhile.
Quinn Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks, I will try that tonight or tommorow.
Quinn Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 When I type in C:/Backup or C:/Backup/eeprom.bin or any other related thing in HDM1.9 it doesn't regognizre it as where the eeprom dump is. Is it maybe just not there?
iBotPeaches Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 When don't type it, look for it. with the builit in file editor. I can get on the computer again in about 34 hours and I'll find the code to bring it up.
Quinn Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 THX but I the xborwser thing didn't work for me the last time so I don't know if it will work. Ya and in HDM9.0 you choose option 1 and type in xbrowser for the file browser.
Quinn Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 kk I tried the xborowser potion and it found my hdd. But then it said that NO xbox partitions could be found. So I think I will unlock it with my progam and buy a modchip so that the hdd doesn't have to be locked. If i have ANY other options other than this could you please tell me them.
iBotPeaches Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Plug the IDE and power cable into your xbox, and move that near your computer. Turn on your xbox with the harddrive in and wait till the error codes comes up. Then remove ONLY the IDE cable from the xbox and switch it with the computer IDE cable then turn it on, that will automatically unlock it.
Quinn Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 So I turn My computer on after I plug in the HDD to it?
iBotPeaches Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Yes Have your computer off till that process is complete. THen you should be able to browse XBrowser.
Quinn Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 This didn't work for me, maybe I'm using a computer thats to old?
iBotPeaches Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Walk me through exactly what you did, from what cables are where. From when you turn on, and plugged in what. And we will fix this. Sorry for making you type what should be a lot. But I'm still can't talk alot till Friday
Quinn Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 First I had the xbox pluged in with all the regular cables in including the video so it wouldn't get the no video error (yellow flashing light) and had the hdd pluged in to the xbox. I booted up the xbox and waited for the red lights to flash. Then i quickly unpluged the IDE cable from the xbox and pluged the hdd into a Compaq Deskpro EN with the power still pluged into the xbox, then turned on the computer, waited a while and then when I booted up HDM1.9 I still got the same error.
iBotPeaches Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Unplug the disc drive of the IDE cable and redo what I told you. THe will prompt error code 12, or 9. Wait till the error code on the xbox appears then take your time and take it out, and do what I said
Quinn Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 The computer's dvd drive or the xbox's?
Quinn Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 This is still not working for me. Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong?
Quinn Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 I think that I will just buy an eeprom reader.
