Is Modding banneble?

I wanted to be sure if, downloading and using this mods on you xbox is illegal and what the consequences are for doing this.

I wanted to mod halo 3 maps, whit the mods that i have saw on this forum, is this illegal? and pls tell me the consequences

Because i don't want to be banned from xbox live, i play alot on live. And i just bought my xbox 360 elite.

And my xbox 360 is not modded.

You'll be fine.

 

They don't ban you for playing/making mods, but they do get upset if you upload them to your Halo 3 fileshare.

Bungie doesn't ban people for mods on file shares anymore

 

I've had mods on my file share (even ones that say its modded in the description with special characters too) for over 1 1/2 years and still not banned, I know people who have had them on longer though

 

but with Bungie focused on Reach, they just don't care anymore
