The last raise of the sword.

Sites have come and gone, but this site has stayed. October 2006 the site was born and continued to grow through hackings, and multiple server moves. Its unfortunate that all things must end. Sites have spawned based off a little tool they make. Members want a piece of the moderating (which isn't that great), so they leave to join another site which will tumble in due time. The rise of other sites have left iBotModz in the dark. One could blame the lack of development coming from the iBotModz guys, but I don't think thats it. There are an excess of other sites out there, some of which make their mark from attracting little kids who want to boost. They go against the entire form of " modding" and switch to "hacking". Modding to boost was never, and should never be used online. People mod games for fun, not to cheat. A few sites forgot that and instantly attracted the entire crew of little kids wanted a big number next to their name.

Someone could say, "wtf peach, modding online is the bomb with the 360". I see no value in boosting my gamerscore. Its a bloody number that has no relation to me outside the gaming world. My boss is not going to care that I have 200k gamerscore. Avatar modding is harmless, so I enjoy it. Halo 3 forge mods are harmless, since you cannot go in matchmaking with them.

Point being, Halo Reach marks the start or end to iBotModz. If Halo: Reach modding explodes, we will go with it and continue to live day by day. If Halo: Reach modding fails miserably and the site ceases to exist, I will cancel the server payments and redirect the domain to a site of my pick. I guess we have to hop the bandwagon of boosting/cheating online, or fail miserably for the time being.

Also, If anyone remembered HaloMods it finally was shutdown after the poor management destroyed the best Halo 2 site that existed.

Last point, I have a jtagged xbox now. So I will try and release some tutorials and applications to benefit others as time permits.

Reach will probably not be a boom for the site. Halo is becoming "old" with people anymore. When I first joined this site it was when Halo 2 modding boomed. I was amazed at the tutorials and the site. I stayed. When Halo 3 came out I started really becoming active. When the first talk of the CON resigner was around, I was flamed by a higher member for asking for it. I was such a noob looking at other's tutorials on how to mod things. Then back in 09 I was creating programs for others to use. Some loved me, but as you know, haters come from that. I stood my ground just kept my thing going. Recently, there has really been nothing new. But I want you guys to really know this: This site brought me to who I am in the modding/gaming world. If it wasn't for iBotModz I would have never learned about hexing a file, modding games, programming etc.

What I say to you people is this:

Learn, learn, and learn. Listen to every thing people say and you will one day rise to be a leader in the community.

I really wish this wasn't the way it would go. Hopefully we all see each other on a site in the future if things go bad. You guys are great.

I will say this now, and its completely off topic. I have three sites I go to on a day to day basis.

1. Ibotmodz

2. Mentalgamers

3. Blueshadowz (Not so much recently, due to being busy/sick, but I still love your site Bunnie Slipperz :p)

Out of all of them, it is obvious that I am most active (post wise) on IBM. MG I go there, and fix the little things that David doesn't have time for. Blueshadz I go there for a random chat with a friendly person I probably have never talked to before. I know, its completely off topic, but I felt like posting it here anyways.

all that i will say is that i will ride this to the end, and what then? I dunno, maybe ill get a ps3

I will help people with jtags, and hope that there will be enough jtags to keep that going for awhile

Whats after that for the 360? I dont know. I have a feeling that a lot of effort will go to the homebrew, but in a few years the jtags will all be rrod and things will die off...

Maybee another Console would help smaller sites?

I guess you had a great deal of time playing the game to make that assumption.

Because halo 3 and halo 3 odst were not modable, im guessing they're not gonna make this game modable.

Common sense really, they'll just use the same system, or a even better one.

Its not unmoddable.

You can run it on a jtagged box, or anything that doesn't need a signed xex file. Then you just decompile the xex, locate where it checks for the rsa and remove it. Really smart guys like DarkShallFall and Detox could find that out in hours of being released, as if they retire it will take others awhile. It still will be moddable though.
