anyone ever enter info into a search engine and end up with an add site? I have, but one day I relaised that the adds have changed. suddenly when I google for information I see adds about modding halo 3, that wasn't related to my search though, how did they know that!

simply put, they no longer need to, as your ISP has been selling your browsing data and IP to addvertisment firms. Its called targeted advertising, and until I read this article I was oblivious.

Are you sure? This is international.

Well considering I know the guy who owns my isp, yeah, I'm sure. They are really good with everything. No Bittorrent throttling either :D

Hardly effective IMO. The method of advertising is very hard to be accurate, all it takes is one off search and all of your ads will be completely unrelated. Also I believe you agree to it in some extent by using their services.
