HackFoil Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 The Seattle Times had a chance to whip up a brief glimpse as to what Bungie has in store in the upcoming years for Halo fans. Undoubtedly the Halo 3 expansion, ODST, is still ranked high on many "most anticipated" lists of 2009. With that in mind the company hopes that the fans respond well to playing as someone other than Master Chief."ODST" picks up the story of the supporting cast ââ¬â orbital drop shock troopers, the "regular" soldiers who fought alongside Master Chief. For "the kind of story we want to tell ââ¬â which is a little bit more human story ââ¬â they seemed like a really great candidate for a hero in the 'Halo' universe," explained Joseph Staten, writer and creative director.A bit about ODST's new multiplayer option was also revealed. Dubbed "Firefight" the new mode lets groups of players cooperatively work through small chunks of the game that last about 30 minutes a pop. Taking a look at an early version of "Project Natal" the company seems to be a fan of the new tech.Bungie also received an early look at the "Project Natal" motion-sensing controller Microsoft is developing for the Xbox. Studio President Harold Ryan said he's enthusiastic about the device and it could be used in "Reach," another version of "Halo" expected in the fall of 2010. "I absolutely think 'Reach' could be enabled with it," he said. While it is no guarantee that Natal integration will make its way into Reach, it is an interesting prospect to think about. Check out more details from Bungie over at the Seattle Times page.
HackFoil Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 Oops, can this be moved please?
Randomrocket Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Meh. I think loading every single person's face would lag up the game tremendously. NATAL looks like it would cost the same as a new xbox anyways. I don't know if I'm going to buy that. Edited October 27, 2009 by Randomrocket
iTzoODavidOo Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Well it will be a new thing for halo and if they make Reach well and not some shoddy game with natal i think that it will be good and really good for natal.
HackFoil Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 if it does, im definitely wearing a mask 1
Grape soda Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 if it does, im definitely wearing a mask I can definitely see a bunch of misuses with that concept. A Butt-face would be pretty funny. (Too bad there isn't a smiley for that one. This is the closest)
DarkRuler Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Im betting it will be something Rainbow 6 Vegas 2's Face Scan thing but might also let you get scanned for other expressions maybe real movements while playing the game, even how fast you can run in place
