well ya, I dont know what they are.

grunt newspaper was in halo3 mp alot.

Some could be reach weapons, but i think some are Covenant weapons, like the top one on the left, it looks like a spiker.

All of those weapons look like variations of the plasma pistol or plasma rifle. Maybe in Halo Reach you can upgrade or customize your weapon.

I found all of that on the first level, in front of the hev pod you come out of.

Seeing as the game came out on the 22nd and you found it along time ago. Thats not that long, so its perfectly fine for him to say he found it too.

 

Unless you pirated the french copy, and found it then. Which in turn means you leaked pre-game videos to the public.
