How to convert DVDs into movies

Programs needed: Dvd Shrink v3.2

Possibly Xilisoft (or any other video converter)

 

1. Put your DVD that you want to download in. (A real no brainer)

 

2. Open Dvd Shrink 3.2

 

3. Click Open Disc http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Open%20disc.jpg

 

4. Select your Disc Drive http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Open%20Disc%20Drive.jpg

 

5. Go to File, then Preferences.

 

6. Go to Output Files then Deselect the 2nd box from bottom (the one that says something about split) Click Ok. http://www.flashinthepan.eu/prefs.jpg

 

7. Make sure you're on the DVD browser tab, then drag and drop the movie to the Dvd Structure box (There will be multiple ones, select the movie - not the main menu) http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Drag%20n%20Drop.jpg

 

8. Then go to Compression Settings and deselect all non english checkboxes - Leave only the 5.1 english http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Deselect.jpg

 

9. [This step is optional] In video (still in compression) click on the dropdown box and select custom, then drag the slider till you find a good filesize. (the lower the filesize, the lower the quality)[/optional step] http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Custom%20Ratio.jpg

 

10. Click backup (Ribbon at the top) http://www.flashinthepan.eu/backup.jpg

 

11. Deselect the make video_ts and audio_ts http://www.flashinthepan.eu/Done.jpg

 

12. Select output destination folders.

 

13. Click Ok.

 

14. You're done, wait a while and watch your movie!

 

[Optional section]

 

1. Find your movie file .vob

 

2. Open in your video convertor

 

3. Select output filetype

 

4. Select output file destination

 

5. Click ok!

You could.. but that wouldn't have as good quality as ripping it straight from the DVD (especially if you put the slider on max)
