Pargy Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 From Major Nelson- I am happy to announce that weââ¬â¢re doing an Xbox 360 System Update Preview program for our next release, and the opportunity to sign up is now available. Much like we did last year, youââ¬â¢ll need to visit the Microsoft Connect site from this link and sign in with your Windows LIVE ID that is connected to your Xbox LIVE Gamertag. Once you do that, you need to fill out the "Xbox LIVE Update Preview Sign Up" survey in order to be considered for receiving the Preview System Update. We're asking a few questions about where you live, your home network, ISP connection and a few other pieces of information. We are looking for a good cross-section of our members in order to get the best feedback we can. The Xbox team will then review all of the applications and if youââ¬â¢re selected weââ¬â¢ll send you an email notifying you of your acceptance in the program. A couple of points before you head off to register: Weââ¬â¢re looking for multiple thousands of participants, so your chances of making it in are good This opportunity is open to all Xbox LIVE Members in regions where Xbox LIVE is available. Just completing the survey does not automatically get you access to the Preview Program. Weââ¬â¢ll be making final selections from the completed surveys and send you an email if you are selected. While both Xbox LIVE Gold and Silver members can sign up, Priority will be given to Gold members in the selection process. If you are accepted, you'll hear from us in about a week. Make sure your information on Connect is updated so we can email you if you are accepted. Also, Iââ¬â¢ll be sure to updated/edit if the program fills up. Sign up for the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program Good luck!
Pargy Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 You can sign up for a preview of the new updates, i guess like the people who got NXE early
lostmodz26 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I just hope that they don't ban achivement giltchers in this update because then I'm f*cked.
TheEazyB Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I wonder if anyone is going to give another KV out with this lol... Also this opens possibility for an offline leak of the update. I remember NXE consoles were going for as much as a dev a few months in advance of release.
Justrec Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I registered, now what. Will they email me, or do I have to sign up somewhere?
Decatur Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I don't have access to my serial and cosole ID right now.
Slidell Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I might do it but I'm offline most of the time so I doubt I will.
miinaturvat Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I have also signed up. Since there are only a few thousand people getting picked for this new dash, they probably will put watermarks in the downloads. Which means that if someone does leak it, microsoft will know who leaked it and ban them So if 2 people get picked from this site, we need to compare the new dash updates and check for any diferences. If there is no difference, there is no watermark. If there is a difference, we have to be careful who we leak it to
iBotPeaches Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Those whom have been accepted into the Preview Program will be contacted by email by July 31, 2009 I signed up. Don't know exactly what for, hope I win though
mangriff32 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I won't leak it, but if it has anything cool, I'll give some pictures and explanations of it lol.
Decatur Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) I'd either sell it or give it to a trusted modder and see if they can get anything out of it, but that's just me. I wouldn't even check it out. Edited July 23, 2009 by Fatal Error
mangriff32 Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 Yup. I got the update, ask me questions if you want. Nothing to special in it.
Quinn Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 Yup. I got the update, ask me questions if you want. Nothing to special in it. I noticed in Ampix's video there was "new Display settings"? Can you look into that plox?
iBotPeaches Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Man, I'm a moron. I just checked my email and I did get invited
mangriff32 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 (edited) I noticed in Ampix's video there was "new Display settings"? Can you look into that plox? Okay, ill copy exactly what it says in the preview. Video Display OptionsVarious improvements have been made to make it easier for you to see your game in the highest resolution possible when using an HDMI connection. (Available Now, All Regions)Display DiscoveryThis feature allows you to override audio and/or video formats independent of the display's capability. How it WorksBy default the console uses the information provided by the display (via it's EDID) to determine the audio and video capabilities of the device. However, the data is often invalid or malformed, hence compatibility issues are encountered. When disabling Display Discovery, the EDID of the device is ignored, thereby, enabling the audio video settings to be overriden with the desired format regardless of display support.Who should use it?The Display Discovery feature is avalible for DVI and HDMI connections in the display settings section of System Settings in the dashboard. Please note that the Display Discovery should only be disabled if audio and/or video related compatibility issues are encountered - otherwise the output quality may be compromised. +rep?
