Well, it's been a crap year for most of the prominent members of this community.

I've stayed in the shadows for the past month, hoping SourceGuy would see his mistakes, and correct them. Unfortunately this didn't happen, and he got himself onto a slippery slope that he would never be able to climb back up. I've witnessed him make some horrible decisions that I have been unable to agree with, and as such, didn't comment on or otherwise avoided. Some people saw this as weakness, or me not having the courage to step up to air my grievances. Neither were the case. I quickly came to realise that by either agreeing, or simply not publicly disagreeing with SourceGuy, I could remain as Administrator, to keep things in order to the best of my ability. I was often instructed specifically to never publicly disagree with him, and realised that in doing so, I would lose my position and thus lose the ability to persuade him (which is rarely much) to not make bad moves.

In doing so, I managed to delay the bannings/demotions of prominent members. The people that fell victim to the recent banwave, you would have been gone before 2009 were it not for my persuasion.

I made him reconsider against abolishing the emblem system in late 2008.

I urged against the upgrade to BB3.

I ran the site for 2 months, without any intervention from SourceGuy and didn't receive a single valid complaint in the relevant forum for a period of around two weeks. Something unheard of since the takeover.

More recently, I witnessed the demotion of Shadowkhas, for something he didn't do. I did it. When discovered, in fear of embarassment, I was silenced and instructed not to mention it. A great moderator would be forever demoted, for no reason.

But this is nothing, most of what went on behind the scenes was significantly worse. There were constant coverups, demotions, bannings, for merely crossing SourceGuy and sometimes, for simple disagreements.

I could post conversations, and expose things... but I'm trying to do this in a way that is as least malicious as possible. If you want further details, contact me.

Anyway, with all this in mind, and knowing the destructive temper SourceGuy has, I felt that it was my moral obligation to save the database and files, and to preserve half a decades worth of our research.

As such, a new forum has been created. A place free from dictator regimes. A community driven site, where every user has a say.

I didn't want to have to do this, but I felt my hand was being pushed. I simply couldn't risk leaving so much research and responsibility to someone that gets destructive when someone disagrees with them.

I would like to note I could have wrecked this board, deleted the database, and pull other nonsense, but as I said... I don't want to be malicious. I'm doing this for the community. There are no ads on http://rework3d.com and it's all funded by me, to help the community. With that in mind, I request you join us. If you don't that's your decision. Just for once, I thought I'd give the community a choice.

An old bump, but I think your are meant to quote Detox/Xenon for the whole topic seeing you never ran HaloMods nor is it fully funded by you...

Do you just like making replies to topics where people don't properly quote people, or give credit?

I just saw a few over on BS... man, contribute to something, don't harrass people for stupid shit.
